How to screenshot on Chromebook
On a Chromebook, taking a straightforward screenshot is incredibly easy. If you wish to record whatever is currently visible on your screen at a certain time, use this technique.
1. Locate the content you wish to capture on camera. It will work for web pages, apps, your desktop, and pretty much anything else you wish to capture on a Chromebook.
2. Press the Show Windows key while continuing to hold the Ctrl key. This is how that appears:
3. Locate the screenshot. It will have been stored by default on Chrome OS in the Downloads folder in My Files. Open the Files app to find this (if you’re not sure where it is, use the launcher to look for it).
You may utilize the clipboard to put your screenshot directly into a Google Docs or Slides document because it will also have been copied to it.
And lastly, on certain Chromebooks, as soon as you take it, a window will also start to emerge in the bottom right corner of the screen. If you click on it, the Files app will open immediately.
How to screenshot on Chromebook partially
It’s just as simple to take a partial screenshot of only a portion of the Chromebook’s display as it is to take a full screenshot.
1. Locate the material that you wish to capture.
2. Press the Show Windows key while continuing to hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys.
3. A notification stating “Drag to pick an area to capture” will display. The screen will have darkened, and your cursor will have turned into a crosshair.
4. Drag the mouse or trackpad to choose the region you want to capture. Your cursor will highlight the region you are capturing.
5. Click the “Capture” button in the screenshot’s center. Your screenshot will now again be saved in the My Files/Downloads section.
How to screenshot on Chromebook but only a window
Use Chrome OS’s snapshot tool to choose just a single window to capture if you don’t want a cluttered screenshot that also includes your taskbar. This is how you do it:
1. Locate the material that you wish to capture.
2. Press the Show Windows key while continuing to hold down the Ctrl and Alt keys.
4. The Chrome OS Screenshot toolbar will then appear at the bottom of the screen.
5. Click the toolbar’s third from the right-most icon. The “Window screenshot” option is this.
6. Your cursor will now display a camera symbol if that choice is chosen. Click the icon when it is over the window you wish to take a screenshot of. Instead of capturing the full screen, this will just capture one window. Your snapshot will once again be stored in your My Files folder.
