“Eternals” is a Marvel comic-based superhero movie. The movie is coming to Marvel Cinematic Universe soon, and here is a post you should read before the official publication of the movie this December.
The Eternals is a big team of immortal beings who have superhero powers. They have been living on Earth for thousands of years without interfering humans’ life or doing anything that could change the course of the future- unless it involves the Deviants. For those who don’t know, the Deviants is a race having unidentified ADN and various mutations. They often hide under the ground and in caves.
If needed, the Eternals will join all their power to form Uni-Mind, a creation of the light, mind, and pure energy that allow other species (like humans) to join without harm. Let’s get to know each of the Eternal’s members and their abilities.
#1 Ikaris: eyes with intense cosmic energy
As a leader, Ikaris‘s mission is to keep other Eternals safe and join them in the fight with the Deviants. He is moral, kind, charismatic, and incredibly strong.
#2 Thena: the ability to form handheld weapons using cosmic energy
The character is portrayed by Angelina Jolie, and she is truly a warrior. She is surly and aloof and has been Gilgamesh‘s friend for centuries.
#3 Makkari: the fastest woman in the universe
She is very good at using her cosmically powered super-speed to find planets for the Eternals. Being the only deaf Eternal seems to gain her a benefit because she doesn’t get affected by the sonic boom that accompanies her cosmic running.
#4 Phastos: the power of invention
Plastos, played by Brian Tyree Henry, is able to create anything he imagines in mind with enough raw materials he has.
#5 Sersi: the ability to manipulate things and change the makeup of materials she touches
Among the Eternals, Sersi is the one who has an affinity for humanity. She has been in love with Ikaris for centuries.
#6 Gilgamesh: the ability to project cosmic-powered exoskeleton
Gilgamesh is known to be the strongest and kindest member of the team. Throughout history, he has been a brave warrior who wins legendary fights with the Deviants.
#7 Ajak: incredible wisdom
While comic books write that Ajak is a male, the character is transformed into a female in the movie. With her wisdom, Ajak has become the spiritual leader of the team. She is able to heal humans and Eternals alike, and she can communicate with the Celestials as well.
#8 Kingo: the power to project cosmic energy projectiles with his hands
The character is portrayed by Kumail Nanjiani, a famous Bollywood star.
#9 Druig: the ability to control the minds of men using cosmic energy
He has been withdrawn from the other Eternals because he disagrees with how they’ve interacted with mankind over the centuries.
#10 Sprite: the ability to cast lifelike illusions
Despite her childish appearance, Sprite is much stronger and more clever than how humans think she is. She and Sersi have been friends for years, but their friendship seems to have a world-weary sadness.
#11 Dane Whiteman (AKA Black Knight)
Actually, he’s not an Eternal. He is Black Knight’s nephew, therefore, he inherits a mystical sword that carried a curse and takes the Black Knight‘s name to help restore honor.
#12 Kro: the first Earth Deviants created
Kyo is the leader of the Deviants, not an Internal. After years of being in an on-again-off-again relationship with Thena, they have two twins.
