Disney Princesses have enthralled audiences for almost 80 years, from Snow White to Raya. While the studio has recently broadened its Princess roster in terms of background, appearance, and personality, each Disney Princess shares the same essential values: kindness, loyalty, passion, and determination.
Regardless, no two Disney Princesses are exactly the same. In Disney canon, their worlds may never collide (with the meta exception of Ralph Breaks The Internet), but it’s easy to conceive which Disney Princesses would bond as friends better than others. Because each princess has her own personality, hobbies, and passions, it will be difficult for them to find their soulmates, but there are at least five pairings that might (and could not) be best friends. It will undoubtedly surprise you! Read all the way to the end and let us know what you think in the comments section!
#1 Elsa and Pocahontas might not be friends
Source: Disney
The ever-isolated former Queen of Arendelle is a difficult woman to get to know. Fear governed Elsa‘s childhood and adolescence for the most part. Pocahontas (Pocahontas) is similarly reserved. She, unlike Elsa, has a variety of relationships beyond her family. Both personalities are kind and friendly, yet coming out of their shells sufficiently to become close friends would be difficult for these two similarly shy people.
#2 Anna and Rapunzel would definitely be best friends!
Source: Disney
Personality attributes lists for Anna (Frozen) and Rapunzel (Tangled) would be nearly identical. They’re courageous, relatable, outgoing, and exuberant to the point of exhaustion. Each of them wants to believe the best in people and manages to keep her spirits up even when her own sister or stepmother rejects her. Anna and Rapunzel have no filter because they grew up with little social interaction.
#3 Jasmine and Snow White might not be friends
Source: Disney
Snow White was the first female film to be released in 1937, and she matches a feminine cinematic template that was prevalent at the time. Because Jasmine was written in the 1990s, she is significantly more self-assured, assertive, and strong-willed, refusing to marry simply because the law requires it. Jasmine is unlikely to find a kindred spirit in Snow White, given how firmly she rejects the damsel in distress cliché.
#4 Mulan and Merida would definitely be best friends!
Source: Disney
Mulan (Mulan) and Merida (Brave) aren’t the average princesses. Each is attempting to live up to the expectations placed on women in their respective cultures. Mulan is shunned for failing to demonstrate her suitability as a future wife, while Merida refuses to be married off for the sake of her kingdom. This fearless and determined couple would get along like a house on fire. Even though they don’t share personality traits, they have similar interests in combat and horseback riding.
#5 Raya and Aurora might not be friends
Source: Disney
Raya’s and Aurora’s films (Raya And The Last Dragon and Sleeping Beauty, respectively) were released more than 60 years apart, so everything has changed, including what it means to be a Disney Princess. Aurora experiences actual threats in her life, yet for the most part, she remains innocent and pure. Raya spends years fending for herself in her apocalyptic world. She’d never get along with someone as innocent as Aurora.
#6 Tiana and Belle would definitely be best friends!
Source: Disney
Tiana (Princess And The Frog) and Belle (Beauty And The Beast) would quickly find common ground. Tiana enjoys cooking, while Belle enjoys reading. They are both incredibly clever people who get lost in their own interests. They can become isolated from the outer world as a result of this, yet they enjoy spending time alone as well.
#7 Merida and Cinderella might not be friends
Source: Disney
Merida (Brave) stands out among the Disney Princesses not only because she is a Pixar Princess, but also because she refuses to marry and aspires to forge her own path free of social expectations. Cinderella (Cinderella) would most likely conflict with Merida’s bravado. While the latter is strong-willed and independent, she also has a tendency to daydream and is uninterested in adventure.
#8 Moana and Ariel would definitely be best friends!
Source: Disney
The ocean is important to both Moana (Moana) and Ariel’s adventures, but that isn’t why they would be friends. Moana and Ariel are both young, cheerful, and self-sufficient, and they share a desire to leave the safety of their homes. Despite the fact that Moana wants to explore the ocean and Ariel wants to leave it, the two might easily go on excursions together.
#9 Ariel and Tiana might not be friends
Source: Disney
Ariel (The Little Mermaid) and Tiana (The Princess And The Frog) are similar in certain aspects. They’re self-assured, tenacious, and laser-focused on their goals. That, however, is insufficient to compensate for their fundamental differences. Tiana, on the other hand, knows to keep a safe distance from the Shadow Man, whereas Ariel is well-intentioned but naive. Her brilliance and work ethic are the polar opposites of Ariel’s. Although they wouldn’t be enemies, it’s difficult to see them as closest friends.
#10 Cinderella and Rapunzel would definitely be best friends!
Source: Disney
Cinderella (Cinderella) and Rapunzel (Tangled) both spend their days caring for the homes in which they are enslaved and both yearn to be free. But it’s not simply the fact that they had two of the most terrible childhoods of any Disney Princesses that brought them together. Despite the ups and downs, they maintain a positive attitude. Each has a talent for forming friendships in unexpected places, so they’d undoubtedly discover common ground in the other.
