Firefly Lane, Netflix’s drama series, has been renewed for a second season. Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke, who star in the tv series, confirmed the renewal in a Zoom video in which they also answered questions from the public about it.
Firefly Lane, which premiered on February 3, quickly rose to the top of Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings.
What is Firefly Lane’s plot?
When the unlikely combination of Tully (Heigl) and Kate (Chalke) meet at the age of 14, they couldn’t be more different, according to the series based on the novel by Kristin Hannah. Tully is the boisterous, outspoken girl that you can’t ignore, whereas Kate is the mousy, quiet one who goes unnoticed.
But when a tragedy draws them together, they become inseparable best friends for the rest of their lives. They spend 30 years together, going through ups and downs, victories and disappointments, grief and joy, and a love triangle that tests their relationship.
One goes on to great fortune and fame, while the other chooses marriage and motherhood, but their relationship endures through the decades – until it is put to the ultimate test.
Maggie Friedman, who also acts as executive producer and showrunner, developed the series. Hannah co-executives with Heigl and Shawn Williamson, who also executive produce.
