The universe of Disney movies is full of fantastic and fascinating experiences that we all wish to have at least once. Who wouldn’t want to be the gorgeous Cinderella the moment a Fairy Godmother comes to their rescue? Who doesn’t flutter and wish they could be in Rapunzel’s shoes, sitting on a boat and gazing up at a sky filled with shimmering lanterns? After all, all we ever want is to be able to live in the magical world, although just for one little moment.
We all know it’s a dream world and not a real world since we’re Disney lovers. All have been “enchanted” by Disney and painted pink to appeal to young audiences. But, don’t we all have the freedom to fantasize about escaping reality? Here are ten moments that make us wish we could be transformed into a Disney character and completely experience the magic. Continue scrolling and let us know which one is your favorite in the comments!
#1 The boat scene of Ariel and Eric (The Little Mermaid)
Source: Disney
Despite the fact that Ariel couldn’t talk and be under a lot of stress as a result of her arrangement with Ursula, spectators could see that while on the boat with Eric, Ariel completely forgot about anything else and was completely immersed at the moment. She was completely focused on Eric and thoroughly enjoyed her time with him. Given the setting and, of course, the performance of “Kiss the Girl,” it couldn’t have been more romantic for the two. Audiences would gladly swap places with Ariel or Eric, at least until Flotsam and Jetsam arrived to ruin the fun.
#2 When Jasmine and Aladdin wander on the magic carpet (Aladdin)
Source: Disney
Riding about on a magic carpet and singing “A Whole New World” is a fantastic way to spend the evening. It was clear that Aladdin and Jasmine had a genuine connection and were destined to be together, and they went on to become one of Disney’s most popular and well-liked couples. They had the opportunity to spend time together and explore the world; it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that undoubtedly led to their falling in love. Given the romance and adventure in one, audiences wouldn’t mind playing Aladdin or Jasmine in the flying carpet scene!
#3 When the Fairy Godmother came to help Cinderella (Cinderella)
Source: Disney
Cinderella was ecstatic to be invited to the ball, only for her stepsisters to rip her gown to shreds and abandon her. Cinderella got more than she could have anticipated when her fairy godmother appeared when she needed her most, and she even won the Prince’s heart. Audiences would love to be Cinderella in that situation, with the carriage, gown, and slippers, Prince, and, probably most importantly, her own fairy godmother on hand to help her solve her difficulties.
#4 When Mulan returned home (Mulan)
Source: Disney
Mulan not only saved China but she was also recognized by the Emperor. What she truly wanted to do was go home and see her family. When she returns, she rushes to give her father Shan Yu‘s sword and the Emperor’s crest, but all he cared about was seeing her again, and their hug was more important given everything Mulan had been through. Audiences undoubtedly value that moment as much as Mulan did, and would jump at the chance to be her.
#5 When Wendy and her siblings flew to Neverland (Peter Pan)
Source: Disney
Peter Pan appears, trains them to fly, and transports them to Neverland on the night their father has decided Wendy is too old to remain in the nursery with her brothers. Their bedtime stories have come true, bringing something unique to the Darling siblings at a time when they most needed it. Audiences wished they could be the Darling siblings at this moment, especially since they were seeing their dreams and bedtime stories come to life as they traveled to a wonderful realm.
#6 When Bianca and Bernard ran away with Penny (The Rescuers)
Source: Disney
In order to find and subsequently rescue Penny, the two had to go through a lot, including a perilous flight to enemies like Nero, Brutus, Snoops, and, of course, famed (and quotable) Disney villain Medusa. It was victory and liberation all at once when they escaped on Medusa’s swamp mobile, having achieved their goal, which resulted in Penny being adopted – the best outcome they could have hoped for. Audiences aspired to be the heroic team at that moment, from completing the rescue to ensuring Penny had a brighter future.
#7 The “The Bare Necessities” scene (The Jungle Book)
Source: Disney
One of the first things Baloo did when he met Mowgli in The Jungle Book was to teach him about “The Bare Necessities.” It’s not just catchy music, but it also conveys a vital message: letting go of your problems and tension and flowing with the flow. Baloo was exactly what Mowgli needed at the time, and despite the fact that Mowgli later joined the man community, he and Baloo would always be linked. Audiences would love to be Baloo in that musical number, or at any other time, because being Baloo comes with a stress-free life!
#8 The floating lights scene (Tangled)
Source: Disney
Rapunzel‘s departure marked independence and a fresh start in more ways than one, as she would discover her true identity, meet her family, and fall in love with Flynn. Most viewers would understand the emotion of leaving home at some point in their lives, thus the adventure of stepping out on her own for the first time is relatable. Rapunzel’s journey, while not without its ups and downs, is one that audiences would enjoy experiencing for themselves.
#9 The iconic ball scene (Beauty And The Beast)
Source: Disney
Belle was able to look past his hard exterior and into his heart of goodness. Meanwhile, she also triggered new emotions in the Beast, allowing him to grow and, of course, fall in love. When the two danced, it was evident that there was more between them than meets the eye, and that there was still hope for breaking the curse. Audiences would welcome the opportunity to be Belle or the Beast, especially if it came with a gown like Belle’s and a promising romance.
#10 When Kronk taught kids about the language of squirrels (The Emperor’s New Groove)
Source: Disney
Kronk and Yzma are iconic Disney villains, yet in The Emperor’s New Groove, they’re beloved characters. Kronk starts out as a villain, but towards the end of the movie, he’s a scout leader who teaches the following generation how to speak with squirrels. It’s the ideal role for Kronk, and given how much his fans adore him, they wouldn’t mind swapping places with him to teach squirrels or seek for birds to cross another off the exotic bird bingo list.
