Before being released, every Disney movie has to go through many complicated stages with careful censorship by the film production team. Only by this way can Disney ensure that it will produce the best of the best movies and that these works will achieve admirable results. Therefore, there have been a lot of movie ideas and projects that, even though they were put into production and were even scheduled for release, end up being canceled and never have the chance to introduce themselves to the audiences.

Among them, there are many promising films with thrilling plots and compelling content for sure. However, due to the script or some unknown reasons during the filmmaking process, they were postponed or shut down and cannot have a happy ending as their protagonists. The cancelation of these movies has caused such great regret for loyal Disney fans, who are always looking forward to the new masterpieces of this influential studio.

Surely you still haven’t forgotten the classic “Monster, Inc.”, right? In fact, this movie was supposed to have a second part as a spin-off. In 2005, Circle 7 screenwriters planned to write a sequel to this film. This part is about Mike and Sully’s journey to visit the human world to celebrate Boo’s birthday. However, they discovered that the girl had moved and on the way to find Boo, our two main characters will have to overcome many difficulties and pitfalls. It’s a pity that this thrilling plot will stay forever in the manuscript.

#2 Dumbo II

Dumbo II” focuses on the journey of baby animals to find their way home after getting lost and separated in New York. However, for some reason, this sequel has been postponed.

#3 Wild Life

The main plot of “Wild Life” revolves around Ella – an elephant from the local zoo and her process of finding her confidence and becoming a famous pop singer. However, because the movie’s setting mainly takes place at a nightclub and has quite a few adult jokes, after Roy Disney read its script, he immediately shut it down.

Did you know that Disney once intended to adapt Terry Pratchett’s novel “Mort” into an animated movie? The story follows Death’s apprentice who, on his first mission, falls in love with the princess, thereby changing the entire plot. It’s a pity that this fascinating plot cannot become a real film.

The movie about this green newt was intended to be released in 2011, but was later put on the waitlist. Ultimately, Disney confirmed that the project was canceled.

#6 The Seven Dwarfs

With the success of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”, in the 2000s Disney planned to produce a prequel for this classic movie. The script focuses on how the seven dwarfs met and decided to live together. However, later, the story resolves how Dopey, one of the dwarfs, lost his voice after watching his mother die. Eventually, Disney felt that this story is too dark for children and decided to drop it.

#7 King of the Elves

This animated film is adapted from a short story written by Phillip K. Dick and is scheduled to premiere in 2012. The story is about a man who, after being crowned king by a band of elves, decides to help these elves escape from an evil troll. On this journey, he overcame many difficulties and then found the meaning of his life. However, there were some problems in the production process and its director decided to cancel this movie.

#8 Gigantic

Gigantic” is based on the old story “Jack and the Beanstalk” with a talented lineup of producers who have produced several hits such as “Tangled”, “Inside Out“, and “Frozen. However, in 2017, Disney confirmed that this project was canceled and it became a huge regret for Disney fans.
