Simply arguing that war is on the horizon in Mayans season 4 is an understatement; it has already arrived. The teaser below gives you an exclusive first peek at what to expect when the Mayans square battle against SAMCRO from Sons of Anarchy.
Men from both sides furiously hug in the protection of their families on the front, set to Van Ghoste’s cover of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ “Off with Their Heads.”
On one hand, the Reyes brothers, EZ (JD Pardo) and Angel (Clayton Cardenas) are leading the charge, supported by their faithful brothers Gilly (Vincent “Rocco”), Hank (Frankie Loyal), and Creeper (Vincent “Rocco” Vargas) (Joseph Lucero). However, they will need all minds on board to prevail.
The destinies of Bishop (Michael Irby) and Taza (Raoul Trujillo) were in the balance in the Mayans season 3 finale when a gunshot was fired in a room where it is presumed only the two are present. From the perspective of the club, Taza did an unforgivable crime, and in order to cover it up, he opened his brothers to punishment.
Then it’s only fair that Taza and Bishop, as shown in the trailer, are right in the thick of things in Mayans season 4.
Coco (Richard Cabral), speaking about terrible misdeeds, was booted out of the club after succumbing to addiction. Coco’s life was saved thanks to his best buddy Gilly, and he survived another day to wreak havoc on the Reapers.
The picture used by the Sons appears to be purposely ambiguous, thus the following is entirely conjecture. Happy (David LaBrava) looks to play a role in this titanic battle in a blink-and-you-missed-it shade.
Also, there is a jaw-dropping scene with EZ tussling with one of Charming’s own, who looks suspiciously like Jax Teller from the rear (Charlie Hunnam). However, unless the conflict is taking place in someone’s dreams or in the depths of the unknown, it’s safe to assume he’s up against Rane Quinn (Rusty Coones).
Marcus Alvarez (Emilio Rivera), who seems like a loose agent who can take a side, is visibly absent from the melee. Unless you are co-creator Elgin James, he might still play a key part in bringing peace to the world.
