Snoop Dogg, a famous name in the music world and a self-proclaimed lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, is now facing some backlash after old photos have surfaced that put his loyalty to the Black and Gold (or yellow, depending on who you ask) into question.
Sunday night at Acrisure Stadium was electric as the Pittsburgh Steelers squared off against the Dallas Cowboys, one of the NFL’s most storied rivalries.
Among the sea of fans was none other than Snoop Dogg, rocking a custom Steelers letterman jacket and waving the iconic Terrible Towel, to the thrill of the crowd.

Despite being from Long Beach, California, Snoop has claimed his love for the Steelers dates back to the 1970s. During a recent interview on the ManningCast with Peyton and Eli Manning, Snoop explained how he became a fan as a child, captivated by the Steelers’ style of play.
“I fell in love with their great defense, the way they move the ball, just the way they play football in general, it was fun to watch as a kid,” Snoop said. “As I became an adult, I fell more in love with them because I got the chance to meet the players, I got to meet Coach Cowher and Ben Roethlisberger and Jerome Bettis and the rest of the guys, and you know, I became a part of Steelers nation.”

However, Snoop’s loyalty was questioned when photos surfaced of him in a Cowboys jersey—specifically a Deion Sanders #21 jersey from the 1990s.

No Steelers fan would every put on a cowboys gear. I laughed when I saw him come out last night because I remember Snoop wearing Cowboys shit all the fucking time.

Another image showed Snoop proudly wearing a Michael Irvin jersey, igniting backlash from Steelers fans, who argue that no true supporter of the team would ever wear Cowboys gear.
“No Steelers fan would ever put on Cowboys gear,” one fan wrote. “I laughed when I saw him last night because I remember Snoop wearing Cowboys stuff all the time.”
“Love Snoop but he be lying his ass off.”

“I’ll never wear a Dallas jersey, even in the jersey era, I could never bring myself to it being an Eagles fan. Go Birds.”
“I love Snoop, but he’s lying about his Steelers fandom,” another fan commented.

“Wait, I thought he was a Raiders fan?”
The controversy has led some to label Snoop a “bandwagon fan,” with fans recalling his ties to other NFL teams like the Raiders and Eagles.

We all know how popular the Dallas Cowboys are—they aren’t called “America’s Team” for nothing. (Though, fun fact, the Steelers were actually offered the title first but turned it down.)
Still, as many fans point out, regardless of how “cool” it was to rock a Cowboys jersey in the ‘90s, no true Steelers fan would ever be caught dead in one.
What do you think about this controversy? Do you still consider Snoop a true Steelers fan after seeing this revealing evidence?
