The Dallas Cowboys faced a minor scare on Wednesday as cornerback Trevon Diggs missed practice with an unspecified injury. Thankfully, Diggs himself offered some clarity, explaining that calf tightness was the cause and assured that the issue is manageable.
“It was a little sore coming out of the game. Probably one of the plays I got hit or something. I’m getting treatment and working through it,” Diggs shared, pointing to his intention to recover quickly ahead of the Cowboys’ Week 9 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
The Cowboys plan to monitor Diggs’ condition closely to ensure he’s in top form for Sunday’s game. Earlier in the season, Diggs also coped with an ankle injury and faced a leg issue in Week 4 during the team’s victory over the New York Giants.
Adding to the defensive anticipation, the Cowboys have activated All-Pro cornerback DaRon Bland, who is eyeing his season debut against Atlanta. The Week 9 game could mark Bland and Diggs’ first time sharing the field since Week 2 of the previous season. With Bland returning and Diggs working toward recovery, the Cowboys’ secondary may get a welcome boost as they face a pivotal point in their season.
