Finding an NFL announcer that everyone genuinely likes can be tough, but Mike Tirico, who works for NBC, has long been considered one of the best.
Recently, there’s been a strong case to make for him being one of the most dedicated broadcasters in sports. During Sunday Night Football, Tirico revealed that he was calling the game despite suffering a torn Achilles. The cameras then panned to the booth, showing him with a cast on his left leg.
Mike Tirico ruptured his Achilles earlier on Monday and is still calling the Eagles/Rams game tonight.

Mike Tirico calling the game with his left leg in a cast/air boot. Had they not shown that on the broadcast, you’d have no idea he was dealing with that. Total pro.

Calling a football game on national television with a torn achilles is as gritty as it gets.

With his toughness, Tirico might now have the perfect excuse to tell any injured player to simply “tough it out.”
Mike Tirico’s expertise goes beyond football. If you were watching the Olympics this summer, you probably heard his voice guiding you through the action. According to NBC, he captivated over 30 million viewers daily across various platforms, including NBC, Peacock, and others, during the Paris games. Tirico truly embodies the role of a “sports guy” in every sense.
