The Dallas Cowboys’ season continues its downward spiral. After a 34-10 drubbing at the hands of the Houston Texans, the team now sits at 3-7 with a winless record at AT&T Stadium in 2024. This defeat marked their fifth straight home loss and the sixth consecutive game in which they trailed by 20+ points at some stage. The once-dominant “America’s Team” now finds itself clinging to pride and searching for answers.
Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb didn’t shy away from the harsh reality. Speaking after the latest loss, Lamb acknowledged the growing pressure, saying other teams are seizing every opportunity to embarrass the Cowboys.
“Obviously, everybody is looking to embarrass us right now. They have the opportunity, and when they do, they’re trying to put us out. We’ve got to find ways to gel together, play together, and finish this thing out. We can’t be selfish in a time like this. Everybody is hurting. Everybody is feeling bad about it.”
Lamb’s comments reflect the growing frustration within the organization. Head coach Mike McCarthy also admitted tensions are high, both in the locker room and on the field, as the Cowboys continue to fall short of expectations.
Lamb Faces Criticism Amid Offensive Struggles
The Cowboys’ offensive woes have put Lamb under the microscope. The Pro Bowl receiver finished with eight receptions for 93 yards and added 13 rushing yards against the Texans. While solid numbers on paper, they fall short of the expectations tied to his lucrative contract extension signed earlier this year.
NFL legend Troy Aikman has been a vocal critic of the Cowboys’ receivers, specifically calling out Lamb’s route running and costly mistakes. Last week, Aikman revisited the infamous missed touchdown catch Lamb blamed on AT&T Stadium’s glaring sunlight.

A Path Forward: Endzone Success
Lamb believes scoring touchdowns is the key to changing the team’s narrative. Speaking candidly, he urged the Cowboys to move past their struggles and focus on converting opportunities into points.
“To be honest, it is not so much coping as it is moving on to the next one. You can’t dwell on it. What happens in the past is in the past. We’ll look at this film, correct what we need to. We gotta go out there and play a whole lot better. We get into the end zone, we’re having a whole different conversation.”
An Uphill Battle Ahead
With six games remaining, the Cowboys’ schedule offers little relief. Aside from a Week 13 matchup with the struggling New York Giants, Dallas faces formidable opponents, including the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders.
The Week 12 showdown against the Commanders is a critical opportunity for Dallas to regroup and prove Lamb’s optimism right. The Cowboys may be down, but they’re not entirely out — yet.
