The Dallas Cowboys are scrambling after their ninth game left them at a rocky 3-6, with frustrations mounting in the locker room and among fans. The recent loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, a 34-6 blowout, has intensified the team’s challenges—made worse by AT&T Stadium’s blinding sunlight, which interfered with a crucial pass aimed at wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.
Lamb, who received ten targets from new starting quarterback Cooper Rush but only managed 21 yards, is now rallying behind his teammate. After Dak Prescott’s season-ending surgery, Rush took the reins of the Cowboys’ offense. Lamb, however, remains optimistic, assuring fans that he’s committed to building chemistry with Rush, beginning with Sunday’s in-state showdown against the Houston Texans.
“The work is going to get done,” Lamb said via DallasCowboys.com. “And, with me, I take full responsibility in getting in sync with him. We’re going to ride this thing out through the rest of the season, so I have the most confidence in him. I don’t care what happened last week, and last week is last week.”
Lamb also expressed concern for Prescott, who underwent surgery to repair a hamstring injury. “I hate that for him,” Lamb said. “He just had surgery, and we pray for his speedy recovery. We’re all thinking about him. But as far as for us, we’ve got to go out there and compete for him as if he is there—with the competitive spirit, the leadership, and everything he’s expecting. We’ve got to step up.”
With the Cowboys now relying on Rush and bringing back former backup Will Grier to the practice squad, the team is rallying for a fresh start as they prepare to face the Texans on Sunday at 4:25 PM EST.
