The Dallas Cowboys secured their first home victory of the season on Thanksgiving, taking down the New York Giants 27-20. While several players, including Micah Parsons, DeMarvion Overshown, and Rico Dowdle, had standout performances, the day wasn’t without its concerns—especially regarding star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.
Lamb struggled during the game, finishing with just two catches for 39 yards, including several drops. His lackluster performance was compounded when he was slammed to the turf during the second half and was noticeably absent from the field during the fourth quarter.
Shoulder Injury Reaggravated
After the game, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy revealed that Lamb is dealing with a shoulder issue, one that he initially injured in Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons when he suffered a sprained AC joint. Unfortunately, Lamb aggravated the injury during the Giants game, which led to his absence in the final stages of the contest.
“CeeDee had a shoulder injury, that’s why he didn’t go back in,” McCarthy confirmed.
Lamb’s Importance to the Cowboys
Lamb has been the Cowboys’ most consistent offensive weapon this season. He currently leads the NFL in receptions with 79 and ranks third in receiving yards with 880, along with four touchdowns. His absence in the fourth quarter, and potentially moving forward, could significantly impact the Cowboys’ passing game, especially with the team gearing up for a crucial Week 14 matchup.
Looking Ahead
The Cowb.oys have a bit of extra rest before their next game, a Monday Night Football showdown with the Cincinnati Bengals. The extended break could give Lamb the time he needs to recover, but his status for that game remains uncertain.
With the Cowboys’ playoff hopes hanging in the balance, Lamb’s health will be a key factor in their offensive success moving forward. The team will be hoping that the wide receiver can recover in time to continue his impressive season and remain a focal point of the Cowboys’ offense
