Dallas Cowboys fans are still holding out hope for the return of their standout defensive playmaker, sidelined since Week 4 due to a lingering high-ankle sprain. Head coach Mike McCarthy provided an update on Wednesday, indicating that although the star linebacker is showing steady improvement, he’s not yet ready to rejoin practice.
“He’s making gains each week,” McCarthy said. “He’s just not ready to get in the practice format.”
If declared inactive, this Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons would mark the fourth consecutive missed game for the veteran defender. Prior to his injury, he was leading the Cowboys’ defense with 14 tackles, 12 pressures, six QB hits, and one sack over four games.
The Cowboys, facing a challenging season, are eager for their defensive powerhouse to rejoin the roster, hoping his return could reinvigorate their defense and keep playoff ambitions within reach. Updates on his availability will be shared as his recovery progresses.
