It’s been a rough start to 2024 for the Dallas Cowboys. Mike McCarthy’s squad has dropped three straight games, putting the team’s season in jeopardy. With Dak Prescott sidelined due to a hamstring injury, Cooper Rush will step up as the starting quarterback this Sunday against the Eagles. But there’s a silver lining for Dallas: CeeDee Lamb, the team’s top receiver, will be ready to play.
Lamb Set to Face the Eagles
Last week’s 27-21 loss to the Falcons saw CeeDee Lamb fighting through a shoulder injury. Despite the pain, he managed eight catches for 47 yards, though his longest gain was just 10 yards. Concerns swirled about his availability for this week’s critical matchup against Philadelphia. However, Lamb reassured fans and teammates that he’ll be on the field and ready to go.
“My shoulder is much better than it was on Sunday, I’ll tell you that. I’ve taken a big step throughout the week in these last two to three days, if you will. I’m good. I was out there running today, getting right,” Lamb shared on Wednesday. “It’s more so pain. Obviously, the tolerance, the range of motion is all there. As you can see, I battled throughout the whole game, the rest of the game, finished the game. Granted, I didn’t play the way I wanted to, but it is what it is. It’s going to take a little more than that to get me out as you can tell.”
Lamb’s Season So Far
Lamb’s return is a huge boost for Dallas. He leads the team with 53 catches, 660 receiving yards, and four touchdowns, making him a critical asset, especially with Prescott out. The All-Pro wideout has consistently delivered against the Eagles, posting 44 catches for 653 yards and four touchdowns in eight previous meetings.
Dallas’ Desperate Need for Firepower
Dallas enters this divisional clash on a four-game home losing streak, dating back to their playoff exit against Green Bay last season. Over those four losses, the Cowboys have allowed a staggering 167 points. Facing a surging Philadelphia team, Dallas will need every ounce of offensive power, starting with Lamb’s playmaking abilities.
With Prescott sidelined, the pressure falls on Cooper Rush to keep the offense moving. Having a weapon like Lamb available is crucial for Dallas to break their losing skid and get back on track in the NFC East.
As Sunday approaches, all eyes will be on CeeDee Lamb to deliver when it matters most.
