Dallas Cowboys veteran right guard Zack Martin responded firmly to any questions about his focus on the field amid recent comments from linebacker Micah Parsons, who highlighted his respect for Martin and the desire to win a championship for him.
After Thursday’s practice, Martin directly addressed the notion that he might be shifting his attention to life beyond football. “I want to win every week,” he stated. “If you ask any guy in this locker room, they wouldn’t be saying they’re trying to win every week. And so yeah, you play for the guys in the locker room, right? I think that’s kind of what he was saying.”
Martin, who has consistently demonstrated his dedication over an 11-year career, underscored that his mindset remains on the team’s immediate goals. “You want to play for the guys in the locker room that you go to work with every day. That’s nothing to change, no matter what the circumstances are.”

While Martin’s contract concludes at the end of this season, his commitment to the Cowboys is unshakable. The former first-round pick out of Notre Dame has built a Hall of Fame-worthy career, starting 161 games, earning nine Pro Bowl nods, and amassing fewer holding calls than Pro Bowl appearances—a rare feat.
Parsons’ words reflected the high regard he and younger teammates have for the Cowboys legend. As Dallas eyes a stronger finish to the season, Martin made it clear that his focus remains on the present, shutting down any speculation about where he’s looking beyond each Sunday.
