Unlike other Disney works, Moana‘s parents do not play a prominent role in this movie. However, they are still alive throughout “Moana” and are a valuable spiritual support for Moana. At first, her dad and mom appeared as those who were afraid of the ocean and always tried to keep Moana away from it. However, after several disasters hit their island, Moana still decided to leave to discover what happened to her land.
At the end of the movie, after a long journey with the demigod Maui to restore Te Fiti’s heart and save her people, Moana finally returned home with her beloved parents and became a wayfinder as she always dreamed of.

Merida, the protagonist of “Brave”, is the daughter of King Fergus and Queen Elinor. And the relationship between Merida and her mother is surely at the heart of the film.
After being forced by her mother to marry a stranger, Merida obeyed a witch and fed her mother an enchanted cake in hopes of changing her fate. However, that cake turned Queen Elinor into a bear and the only way to break this curse and help her mother revert to her human form was to “mend the bond torn by pride” before the second sunrise.

Rapunzel is also a princess to have both parents alive throughout her whole movie. Because of her magical hair, she was kidnapped by the villain – Mother Gothel, and it made their family apart for years. Every year, on Rapunzel’s birthday, her parents always released thousands of sky lanterns in hopes of finding their missing daughter.
Thanks to the help of Flynn Rider, Rapunzel finally uncovered the secret of Mother Gothel and was reunited with her biological mom and dad.

Mulan is the fourth princess on this list. Unlike Rapunzel who had very little time with her parents as a child, Mulan was born and raised by both her father and mother. The main reason Mulan decided to join the army was also because of her father.
Worrying about the health of his father who was enlisted into the army as he was the only man in the family, Mulan decided to disguise herself as a man to take his place and fight against the Rouran army trying to invade her country. At the end of the film, Mulan finally reunited with her family after quelling the rebellion.

Did you know that Aurora is the first princess in the Disney universe to have both mom and dad alive? King Stefan and Queen Leah were married for many years but still did not have a child until Aurora was born, so they held a huge celebration for this great happiness. However, they forgot to invite Maleficent and that’s why this witch cursed Aurora.
The King and Queen, therefore, were forced to send her daughter to a cottage to live with the three good fairies to protect her from the evil spell. At the end of the film, after being freed from her curse, Aurora found the true love of her life and was eventually reunited with her parents.
