How Kristen Stewart Reacted To Several People Walking Out Of Her New Film Premiere

By now, the dystopian horror flick is making waves already.

Kristen Stewart’s latest movie, Crimes of the Future, had its press premiere at the Cannes Film Festival last week.

Kristen portrays a bureaucrat who is mesmerized by a performance artist who performs live surgery as part of their act in the film, which is directed by David Cronenberg, who also directed Crash.

Even Kristen said that she was initially perplexed by the film: “We, the actors, spent every single day after work being like, ‘What the fuck are we doing?’ But then I watched the movie last night and it was so crystal clear to me,” Insider reported Kristen’s claim.

“It so exposing, and it does feel like you’re hacking up organs when you’re making something, and if it doesn’t feel that way it’s not worth it.”

As you might expect, the film contains some gruesome sequences, some of which were so disturbing and upsetting that several individuals left the Cannes Film Festival premiere, according to the New York Times and Insider.

Kristen doesn’t mind the walkouts or the film’s provocative nature, she says.

“Everyone loves to talk about how his movies are difficult to watch and it’s fun to talk about people walking out of Cannes screenings,” Kristen said.
