Summary:
- Jaimie Alexander has pitched a Sif/Beta Ray Bill series to Marvel Studios and shared details about deleted scenes from “Thor: Love and Thunder,” including an epic fight with Gorr and a scene showing Sif heavily bandaged after losing an arm.
- Alexander expressed her love for the character and her desire to continue playing Sif, hinting at potential future appearances in the MCU.
Jaimie Alexander first portrayed Sif in 2011’s Thor and reprised the role in Thor: The Dark World. After a brief appearance in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., she was largely absent from the MCU until her return in Thor: Love and Thunder, where she revealed a missing arm after battling Gorr the God Butcher.
Deleted Scenes from Thor: Love and Thunder
During a recent appearance at San Antonio’s Superhero Comic Con, Alexander shared details about scenes that were cut from Thor: Love and Thunder. She mentioned an “epic fight scene” between Sif and Gorr that was removed from the final cut.
I met Christian Bale on set and we were both disappointed that we couldn’t beat the sh*t out of each other,” she said.
Another deleted scene featured Sif in a common area, heavily bandaged and somewhat drugged from her injuries.
“They’re in this hall area, common area, she wheels in with one arm…and she’s a little drugged up because she’s been taken to get some healing because she’s missing an arm, and there’s blood everywhere,” Alexander described.
Future Plans and Pitched Series
Reflecting on her character’s future in the MCU, Alexander revealed she has pitched a series centered on Sif and Beta Ray Bill to Marvel Studios.
This is something my team and I have explored a little bit, my team and I have pitched a show with Lady Sif and Beta Ray Bill,” she said.
“This character is probably one of the most favorite characters I’ve ever played, and it means so much to me…and I will keep playing her until I can’t anymore.”
Alexander also expressed interest in teaming up with other MCU characters, humorously mentioning Iron Man. “I really like Iron Man. The flirtation would be funny because I think Lady Sif would punch him in the face,” she added.
Currently, Sif is shown training Heimdall’s son, and while Thor 5 is rumored to be in development, it’s likely she will return either there or in upcoming Avengers movies.
Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Russell Crowe, Jaimie Alexander, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, and Sean Gunn among others. The movie is now streaming on Disney+.
