Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs faced a tough challenge against the Detroit Lions, particularly from wide receiver Jameson Williams. Williams had a standout performance, catching three passes for 76 yards and a touchdown, consistently leaving the All-Pro cornerback in his dust.
The Lions dominated the Cowboys, winning 47-9, and social media quickly pointed out Diggs’ struggles. A viral video showcased Williams repeatedly outpacing Diggs, culminating in a clip where a frustrated Diggs appeared to say, “I can’t even catch up.”
With a $97 million contract, Diggs’ performance became a topic of discussion among fans, many of whom took delight in the Cowboys’ defeat. Meanwhile, the Lions are preparing for a Week 7 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings with a strong 4-1 record.

For the Cowboys, it’s a different story. As they head into their bye week, they’ll need to recover key defensive players, including star cornerback Diggs. His struggles were compounded by the absence of teammates Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence, along with DaRon Bland, who is healing from a stress fracture.
Bland, who had a breakout season last year while Diggs was sidelined with a torn ACL, could have potentially contained Williams. After missing time in his first two seasons due to injuries and suspensions, Williams is enjoying a career year with 16 catches for 365 yards and three touchdowns. If he continues this pace, he will easily surpass 1,000 receiving yards and shed the “bust” label.
The Cowboys must use their bye week to regroup and heal, as they face a tough challenge against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 8.
