Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones delivered a concerning update on Dak Prescott’s health following the team’s 27-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Prescott, who exited the game in the fourth quarter due to a hamstring injury and issues with his right hand, was replaced by backup quarterback Cooper Rush.
After the game, Jones expressed his concerns, particularly around Prescott’s hamstring. “Well, I am concerned about that,” he told reporters. “It concerned me when I saw the play and I saw him have a reaction to any weakness that he might have had there. The hand issue is not an issue. We don’t know if the hamstring is a high one. I don’t know where it is. We’ll just have to take a look at that.”
Prescott’s injury could prove costly for the Cowboys, who now sit at 3-5, a disappointing record for a team that entered the season with Super Bowl aspirations. With the NFC East race tightening and a difficult stretch of games ahead, Prescott’s health remains crucial for Dallas. The team may need to turn to Cooper Rush, who performed capably in relief, if Prescott is sidelined.
Jones praised Rush’s performance, adding a glimmer of hope amid uncertainty. “You’ve got to give (Cooper) Rush a little positive here. He came in there and I’m proud of him. He played well,” Jones said.
With Prescott’s status up in the air, the Cowboys are bracing for what could be a tough road ahead.
