Despite the Dallas Cowboys facing injuries in their secondary and defensive line, slot cornerback Jourdan Lewis is showcasing that age is just a number, having the best season of his eight-year NFL career.
According to Brandon Loree of Blogging The Boys, “Jourdan Lewis has surrendered 11 receptions for 61 yards on 18 targets faced, resulting in -17.9 target EPA, the fewest of any slot cornerback, per NFL Pro.”
EPA, or Expected Points Added, is an advanced metric that indicates how a cornerback’s performance on pass plays influences the opposing offense’s likelihood of scoring. A lower EPA signifies greater effectiveness in shutting down receivers and minimizing offensive gains.

Lewis has consistently proven himself as a reliable professional and starter throughout his time in Dallas. However, due to the presence of more high-profile players on the team, he hasn’t always received the respect and recognition he deserves from fans.
With his recent standout performances, there’s hope that more No. 2 jerseys will be seen at AT&T Stadium on Sundays, acknowledging Lewis’s significant contributions to the team.
