The Las Vegas Raiders were making a late push for a comeback when disaster struck for Gardner Minshew. In the fourth quarter, as the Raiders fought to close the gap, Minshew was sacked by Broncos linebackers Cody Barton and Jonathon Cooper. After Gardner Minshew’s season-ending collarbone injury, Desmond Ridder stepped in but struggled, completing 5 of 10 passes for 64 yards while being sacked twice. Minshew, before exiting, had thrown for 230 yards, with a touchdown and an interception, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Raiders from losing 29-19 to the Broncos. The defeat left Las Vegas at 2-9, further distancing them from playoff contention.
With Minshew sidelined, the Raiders may look for a new quarterback. Aidan O’Connell could be activated this week, but there’s speculation they could make a move for Daniel Jones.
