Raiders QB Gardner Minshew Injured in Week 12 Loss to Broncos, Season Over After Breaking Collarbone
Gardner Minshew’s day took a tragic turn late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos. After a brutal sack from Broncos linebackers Cody Barton and Jonathon Cooper, Minshew’s left shoulder was driven hard into the ground. The Raiders’ QB stayed down in pain as medical staff rushed to his aid.
Unfortunately, the injury was worse than anyone feared—Minshew has been diagnosed with a broken collarbone, ending his 2024 season, as reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.

After Gardner Minshew’s season-ending collarbone injury, Desmond Ridder stepped in but struggled, completing 5 of 10 passes for 64 yards while being sacked twice. Minshew, before exiting, had thrown for 230 yards, with a touchdown and an interception, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Raiders from losing 29-19 to the Broncos. The defeat left Las Vegas at 2-9, further distancing them from playoff contention.
With Minshew sidelined, the Raiders may look for a new quarterback. Aidan O’Connell could be activated this week, but there’s speculation they could make a move for Daniel Jones. Released by the Giants after being benched, Jones may be available if he clears waivers, giving the Raiders another potential option under center.
