A Christmas Story, the Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures sequel to A Christmas Story for HBO Max, has added four more cast members: Ian Petrella (Randy), Zack Ward (Scut Farkus), Scott Schwartz (Flick), and R.D. Robb (Schwartz).
A Christmas Story’s plot
In the 1970s, an adult Ralphie (Peter Billingsley, repeating his lead role) returns to the Cleveland Street house to give his children a memorable Christmas like the one he enjoyed as a child. Ralphie reconnects with childhood pals, reconciles the death of his Old Man, and sows the seeds for the cherished holiday classic’s beginnings with the same attention-to-real-life tone as the first.
Nick Schenk wrote the script and will also executive produce A Christmas Story, with Clay Kaytis set to direct. Through their Wild West Picture Show productions, Billingsley and Vince Vaughn will produce.
A Christmas Story’s cast
Since his scene-stealing appearance as Randy in the original, this is Petrella’s first picture. Ward recently featured in Lionsgate‘s Survive the Game, and his previous credits include Freddy vs. Jason, Transformers, and Resident Evil: Apocalypse, as well as regular roles on Fox’s Titus. Lucas Talent and Vanguard Management Group represent him.
Schwartz is known for his roles in Kidco and The Toy, as well as his co-starring roles in A Time to Live and The Toy. In addition to his previous performances in Matilda and The Brady Bunch Movie, Robb has a recurring role on ABC’s The Goldbergs. Since then, he’s shifted his focus to creating, most notably serving as executive producer on Freeform’s Siren.
