Paramount Pictures is developing a new comedy titled “What Kids Want,” taking a fresh look at the concept explored in their previous films “What Women Want” and “What Men Want.
The screenplay is in the hands of Sam Pitman and Adam Cole-Kelly, the writing duo behind the 2020 comedy “Like a Boss.
Following the pattern of its predecessors, “What Kids Want” will center on a character gaining the ability to hear the unfiltered thoughts – a wild and unpredictable experience, to say the least! This time, however, the twist is the character will be privy to the inner worlds of children.
This new film joins the ranks of other Paramount comedies produced by Todd Garner (Broken Road Productions) and Gina Mathews and Grant Scharbo (Little Engine Entertainment). Interestingly, Gina Mathews was also involved in the production of the original “What Women Want.
Paramount seems to be placing a big bet on the “What Kids Want” writing team. Pitman and Cole-Kelly’s “Like a Boss” brought in over $30 million worldwide, demonstrating their comedic chops.
While details about the cast and director are yet to be revealed, “What Kids Want” promises to be a hilarious exploration of the often-chaotic world of childhood, seen through the eyes of an adult who can finally understand what kids are really thinking!
