Hurricane Milton has wreaked havoc across Florida, leaving millions without power and causing significant damage along the Gulf Coast. Making landfall near Siesta Key as a Category 3 storm, it has since weakened to a Category 1, according to CBS News. In the face of such devastation, many are stepping up to help, including NFL legend Tom Brady.
The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback, who still holds strong ties to the state, announced a $100,000 donation to help those affected by the storm. Brady shared the news on social media, emphasizing his commitment to helping Floridians access essentials like food, water, and medical supplies.
“In the wake of Hurricane Milton, I’ll be making a donation of $100k to help get essentials like food, water, and first aid to fellow Floridians in need,” Brady wrote in his post.

Brady also highlighted a partnership with gopuff, a digital delivery service, which is matching his contribution as well as others through their ‘Give With Gopuff’ initiative. All funds raised will support the Volunteer Florida Foundation’s efforts to assist those impacted by the storm.
“Keep those impacted by these storms in your prayers, look out for your neighbors, and continue to help out anyway you’re able. Stay safe, and stay strong Florida,” Brady urged in his message.
According to reports from CBS News, Hurricane Milton still threatens to flood parts of Florida’s Gulf Coast despite weakening. Brady’s contribution and encouragement come at a crucial time as the state rallies to recover from the storm’s devastation.
