Disney Mom Cuts the Entire Ride Line, But The Crowd Finally Calls Her Out

Theme parks are supposed to be places where people make happy memories, but long waits and crowded attractions can sometimes bring out the worst in people.

Everyone pays the same price and stands in the same lines, so when someone tries to skip ahead, it can quickly create frustration among guests who have been patiently waiting.

The original poster (OP) was enjoying a rare trip to Disney when she noticed a family trying to take advantage of the single rider line.

What started as a suspicious shortcut quickly turned into a much bigger confrontation as more guests realized what was happening.

Read on to find out how OP and the rest of the line responded when they decided enough was enough.

Disney visitor notices a mother cutting a long ride line with her children

not the actual photo

'Entitled Disney Mom cuts the line so I get her and her kids kicked off the ride?'

Today, I visited Disney for the first time since I was 9yo. Super fun day, lines

longer than I remember but maybe I was just excited back then.

My friend and I discovered the single rider lanes and took advantage of

that due to the shorter wait times and it did not matter to us to ride

separately. As we were waiting in that line, a family of 4 (mom, 2

daughters, and dad) walk through the middle of the line holding hands.

Several people are disgruntled and asking what they are doing. Mom claims

they forgot something on the ride. They make it to the part of the ride

where single riders, fast pass riders, and the original line are all in a similar

area. One of the ladies behind me screams "What did you forget?!?"

Everyone in the single rider lane is fuming as we all realize she's just

waiting to get on the ride with her kids.

They get shuffled into the pre-ride movie area before my friend and I. We

are shocked no one brought it to any of the staffs attention. Meanwhile, all

the single riders are trauma bonding over this ladies boldness and

entitlement. So when my friend and I get shuffled into the pre-ride movie

area, I tell one of the staff what the lady and her kids looked like, and what

she did. He says, at this point since they are already in the line to board the

car, he can't do much.

We make it to the car boarding line and low and behold, there's the lady

and her two kids! I stop yet another employee and explain the situation.

She says she will let someone know but walks in the opposite direction of

the rider operators. Then, one of the kids runs up to a man directly behind

my friend and I, pulls on his arm and says "Come on Dad!". We turn around

and Dad is behind us. He refuses to join his family, probably because he

heard everyone in the line complaining about what they did.

So everyone starts speaking louder, the whole line. What a terrible

example to set for your children. What makes them feel so entitled?

Everyone is waiting the same, some people for hours, why do they think

they're special? Why lie to get what you want? The whole line is loudly

speaking so these people know exactly what we think of them. Dad

continues to hang back and let people get in front of him as he hangs his

head in shame and his family inches closer to the front of the line.

I had enough at that point. I talked to the people in front of me and asked

if I could go let the ride operators know what happened because I'll be

damned if they are getting on this ride! I ask the people in front of me to

let me warn the ride operators and they were all happy the step aside.

Mom is blocking the walkway because they are next up. I tap her on her

side and say "excuse me" and stare her down. She slides over without a

word. I then tell the ride operator "This lady and her two children cut the

entire line through the single riders line claiming she forgot something.

You can ask anyone in this line." She gives me the most evil, disgusted,

shocked glare. I walk back to where my friend was and another woman

goes up to the line operator verify my story. Disney Mom is trying to say

both of us are lying. Then everyone in line starts yelling and telling the

same story, determined not to let her or her kids on the ride. They were

eventually escorted out the side door and everyone in line clapped.

TL;DR: Disney Mom cuts the line with her kids and husband. I speak up to

ride operators and get her and her kids kicked off the ride, as husband

hands head in shame. The whole line cheers.

Few things test people’s patience like waiting.

A long line is a simple social agreement: everyone gives up their time, and everyone expects others to respect the same rule.

When someone breaks that agreement, the frustration often comes from more than lost minutes.

It comes from feeling that fairness no longer matters.

The OP’s reaction was not just about a theme park ride. It was about a perceived violation of a shared expectation.

Everyone in that line had made the same sacrifice, whether they were waiting through a regular queue or using the single rider option.

The family’s decision to enter through another line and allegedly use a false excuse created the impression that they believed their time was more valuable than everyone else’s.

The strongest emotional response came from seeing children involved, because many people view moments like this as examples of what behavior is being modeled for the next generation.

A different perspective is that there may have been circumstances the OP and the other riders did not know about.

Families at theme parks can deal with complicated situations involving young children, disabilities, emergencies, or confusion about park rules.

However, the issue described by the OP was not simply joining a different line by mistake.

The frustration came from the belief that the family intentionally used a false explanation to gain an advantage.

If that was the case, the problem was not needing accommodation; it was bypassing a system everyone else was following.

This helps explain why an entire line of strangers became involved.

The riders were not personally connected, but they shared the same experience and the same frustration.

A single person appearing to receive special treatment can quickly turn strangers into a group defending a common rule.

At the same time, public confrontation can become complicated.

Speaking up through staff was a reasonable way to address a suspected rule violation, but turning the entire line against someone can easily become humiliating and emotionally charged.

The goal of enforcing fairness does not always require public punishment.

The larger lesson is that communities depend on small acts of consideration.

A theme park line may seem insignificant, but it represents a larger social contract: everyone agrees to wait their turn because everyone benefits from the same rule.

People do not usually remember the few extra minutes they waited.

They remember the feeling that someone thought the rules did not apply to them.

Respecting shared spaces often comes down to one simple idea: if everyone acted the way you did, would the system still work?

These are the responses from Reddit users:

These commenters criticized line cutting as selfish behavior and said entitled guests should face consequences for ignoring basic fairness

Phenoepic − I bet the entitled mother would be the loudest to complain if

someone cut the line in front of her.

CoderJoe1 − She obviously forgot her morals.

Silver6Rules − Good! Anybody cutting ANY line in an amusement park

deserves to be thrown out. And any worker turning a blind eye to this

needs to be fired. We don't pay our money for others to think they are

more important than everybody else. That family needed to collectively

learn the most important lesson: f__k your entitlement.

These Redditors discussed how crowded theme parks have become stressful environments where guests often act aggressively or inconsiderately

Revolutionary_Egg870 − Sadly, this is what has become of the Disney

experience. It's no longer a day of leisure but of battle. You were exactly

right to do what you did and I applaud you, but coming away from a day at

the parks as a champion of crowd control is hardly what Walt had in mind.

ElleWinter − I was at Disney in November 2023. While I was waiting in the

line for the Haunted Mansion, I think between five and ten people did this.

My husband is normally the kindest person, but the "injustice" of these line

cutters nearly made his head explode. Next time we have to go, I'm making

him get super stoned in advanced to save our sanity.

Massive-School-7901 − Adults acting like children at Disney? Wow, I am surprised! !!

This group praised the OP for standing up against the entitled family and viewed the actions as a victory for fairness

daylily61 − Madam, you are a heroine 👏

CloudyWeb1228 − Trauma bonding 🤣❤️

These users focused on disability-related concerns

Alycion − Everyone wants to drag me to the parks bc of the disabled thing.

Rides are not fun for those with chronic pain. They want to use my

disability but never even offered to cover the cost of gas to Orlando. Nope.

You know parks have rides. Either don’t care who you sit with or pony up

the money for a fast pass.

Stunts like that and trying to use a friend’s disability isn’t right. I have lupus.

Too much sun can cause kidney issues. They just care about moving along faster.

FLVoiceOfReason − Fantastic result! Thank you for your persistence in

making the entitled family face Disney justice!

OP’s first Disney trip in years turned into an unexpected lesson in patience, fairness, and speaking up.

While waiting in a single-rider line, OP noticed a family allegedly using a false excuse to skip ahead and avoid a long wait.

Instead of ignoring it, OP and other guests reported the behavior, eventually leading staff to remove the family from the ride queue.

Do you think OP was right to call out the line-cutting, or should it have been left for employees to handle?

How would you react if someone tried to skip ahead after everyone else waited? Share your thoughts below.
