The Renaissance is considered to be the period of time that perhaps humans, until later, will never be able to reach its level of art culture. When it comes to Renaissance art, most people think of Leonardo da Vinci’s famous painting “The Mona Lisa” or the colorful, delicate, meticulous paintings that come to life in Raphael Rooms in Vatican City.
Inspired by classic paintings and a passion for Disney animated movies of all time, artist Dim Draws has constantly created unique works of art that perfectly describe Disney princesses. Under his delicate and talented brushstrokes, our favorite princesses appear in classic bold colors and costumes. And his collection melted the hearts of both art enthusiasts and Disney fans all over the world.
Here are 11 typical paintings of Disney princesses in his collection, I’m sure you will be surprised. He also creates many different versions of mermaids so if you are interested, just check out his Instagram.
#1 Snow White from “Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs”

“Famed is thy beauty, Majesty. But hold, a lovely maid I see. Alas, she is fairer than thee. Lips red as the rose. Hair black as ebony. Skin white as snow. Snow White!
Here’s the first ever Disney Princess, Snow White from the 1937 classic film “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I worked hard on her to make her as beautiful as possible since she is indeed the ” Fairest of them all” in her story!”
#2 Cinderella from “Cinderella”

And yet, through it all, Cinderella remained ever gentle and kind, for with each dawn she found new hope that someday, her dreams of happiness would come true
“She’s my favorite of the first three classic Princesses. I just find her to be so sweet and her story is the most iconic fairytale story in my opinion. I kept the background the most simple out of all of them because I was so pleased with how her silver ballgown came out that I didn’t want to take any attention away from it!”
#3 Princess Aurora from “Sleeping Beauty”
Source: Dim Draws
“One gift, beauty rare. Gold of sunshine in her hair, Lips that shame the red, red rose. She’ll walk with springtime wherever she goes”
My take on Princess Aurora from the 1959 movie “Sleeping Beauty. I had a lot of fun with this one!”
#4 Ariel from “The Little Mermaid”
Source: Dim Draws
“A girl rescued me. She was singing. She had the most beautiful voice.”
“She is the first one from the Disney Renaissance era and she was super important for the Disney studios!
She also happens to be my favorite since I was very little and she is the one that I used to draw the most back then. I still really do love her and I hum Part of your World almost daily!”
#5 Belle from “Beauty and the Beast”
Source: Dim Draws
“She’s the one! She has come to break the spell”
“I wanted to include as many roses as possible in this picture since roses are a big iconic element of this fairytale and also I think the roses helped to create a more romantic atmosphere. Her dress was also super fun to paint!”
#6 Princess Jasmine and Rajah from “Aladdin”
Source: Dim Draws
“Heard your princess was a sight lovely to see”
She is the first and so far the only Disney Princess who wasn’t the main focus of her movie and yet she was loved by millions of fans!
I wanted to include her pet tiger Rajah in this picture because I love him as well!”
#7 Pocahontas from “Pocahontas”
Source: Dim Draws
“You know Pocahontas. She has her mother’s spirit. She goes wherever the wind takes her.”
“I always considered her to be one of the prettiest and more unique Disney Princesses, I really loved that she had more realistic proportions in the original movie… and for that reason, I always felt like I could never do her justice every time I tried drawing her.”
#8 Mulan and Mushu from “Mulan”
Source: Dim Draws
“Like a lotus blossom soft and pale, You’ll bring honor to us all!”
Mulan was always one of my favorites from the Disney renaissance period, she might not be an actual princess either by birth or marriage but she doesn’t need to be one…. she’s still just lovable and amazing! She saved an entire nation after all!
I also wanted to depict Mushu as a bigger more traditional chinese dragon flying around Mulan to give the picture a more epic vibe! 🙂 However do not confuse this as being “this is the way Mushu should have been” because I 100% love him in the original movie, he’s one of my favorite sidekicks!”
#9 Tiana from “The Princess and the Frog”
Source: Dim Draws
“The evening star is shining bright. So make a wish and hold on tight. There’s magic in the air tonight. And anything can happen….”
“I remember back in 2009 when I started seeing trailers and commercials for this movie, I was really surprised to see again a new story told with classic 2d Disney animation! It felt so magical! I think this movie is pretty underrated I love all the characters and the songs in it! I still listen to “Almost There” quite often! I find the song to be very cute and motivating!
Also regardless if you are a big Tiana fan or not, we can all agree that she is one of the best-dressed Princesses, her light green wedding gown when she turns back into a human is just so beautiful!
#10 Giselle from “Enchanted”
Source: Dim Draws
“Once upon a time in a magical kingdom known as Andalasia…”
I repainted my old artwork of Giselle from Enchanted just in time for the movie’s sequel, Disenchanted!
This artwork is meant to be a blend of Giselle‘s animated form with her pink dress and her live-action self. I hope that you all will like it!
I am very excited to watch the sequel! I am sure that it will be great!”
#11 Rapunzel from “Tangled”
Source: Dim Draws
“I have magic hair that glows when I sing.”
Tangled is one of my favorite Disney movies… I was very obsessed with it when it came out. I remember I would visit Tumblr blogs to see new merch and go on forums… the obsession was real back then haha… My only regret is that I never saw it in the cinema. 🙃 (It’s a bit hard to believe that was more than a decade ago).
.
Also a question, what’s your favorite fairytale? Rapunzel was always one of my faves for the shallow reasons that I always had an obsession with drawing super long hair.
