For a movie, the music plays a very important part in conveying emotions to the audience. And cartoons are no exception. Disney’s soundtrack songs have made our hearts so many times. Whenever it comes to an emotional segment, the songs with soaring melodies mixed with the movie‘s content have won the hearts of the audience countless times. And now, those beautiful melodies suddenly resound anywhere, making all childhood memories rush back to mind.

Many of these songs, whether animated or live-action, have become legendary in pop culture. We’re all familiar with the biggest and finest songs from the golden era, such as Friend Like Me and Can You Feel The Love Tonight. But what about the lesser-known ones? Other songs are being overlooked or completely forgotten, despite the fact that they deserve greater attention. The 8 most underappreciated Disney songs are listed below.

#1 Under The Sea – The Little Mermaid

“Under The Sea” is a highly well-known song that is overshadowed by another song from the film and hence appears on this list. It’s difficult not to like Sebastian the Crab and his reggae flair throughout the movie, which provides Under The Sea an edge over the typical tunes of the era. Plus, strangely enough, it contains a chorus that everyone recognizes, even if they have never heard the song before.

#2 Hellfire – The Hunchback Of Notre Dame

Because Disney does not frequently mention this song, it may go unnoticed. It might be due to the fact that this is Disney’s most mature and gloomy song to date. As he lusts after Esmeralda, Claude Frollo is fighting an internal battle between his religion and his feelings. If she loves him, she will survive; yet, if she rejects him, she will perish. It’s a melancholy song with powerful music and mature words.

#3 The Gospel Truth – Hercules

Top 8 Most Underrated Disney Songs From The Golden AgeSource: Disney

The entire “Hercules” soundtrack is fantastic, but this song has gotten far less attention throughout the years. The Muses interrupt the film’s dry, masculine narrator to summarize ancient Greek history in less than two minutes, which is heard just after the opening titles. The Muses deliver a much-needed injection of funk, soul, and sass with “The Gospel Truth,” letting us know that this isn’t your standard Greek tragedy. This song also establishes the tone for the film, paving the stage for following comic songs such as “One Last Hope.” The Muses, on the other hand, are the original divas, and we should all pay attention to what they have to say, especially when Meg is divided about her feelings for Hercules.

#4 Arabian Nights – Aladdin

Top 8 Most Underrated Disney Songs From The Golden AgeSource: Disney

The energy of “Arabian Nights” is great, and it eloquently impresses the narrative that lies ahead. It has a terrific chorus booming and truly catches the vibe of the movie before it even starts. Most fans of the movie will remember the song if they hear the tune and see the visual shown at the opening; it’s only that the remainder of the movie just grew better and better, and “Arabian Nights” faded into the background.

#5 Honour To Us All – Mulan

Top 8 Most Underrated Disney Songs From The Golden AgeSource: Disney

The song “Honour To Us All” plays at the beginning of the movie. It tells you all you need to know about Mulan‘s expectations and the life that awaits her on that predetermined path. The cast of the film sings the song so effectively that it may be one of the finest cast songs in Disney’s history. It’s simply bad it got lost in the shuffle in favor of the larger songs.

#6 Gaston – Beauty And The Beast

Top 8 Most Underrated Disney Songs From The Golden AgeSource: Disney

Gaston is the type of music that may help you get out of a depression. Gaston’s performance exemplifies the character’s ruthlessness and willingness to go to any length to achieve his goals, no matter the cost. It has one of Disney’s most imaginative and humorous lyrics, as well as a catchy rhythm that may make you want to dance.

#7 I Won’t Say I’m In Love – Hercules

Top 8 Most Underrated Disney Songs From The Golden AgeSource: Disney

It’s at this point that Meg must choose between following Hades and telling Hercules about her thoughts. In the incredible song, she expresses all of her emotions. Susan Egan’s vocal performance with the muses is one of the greatest in the whole Disney repertoire, as she pulls Meg’s emotions out.

#8 Be Prepared – The Lion King

Top 8 Most Underrated Disney Songs From The Golden AgeSource: Disney

It is well-liked, yet it is often forgotten in favor of the other amazing songs from The Lion King. “Be Prepared,” on the other hand, is one of the finest tunes for any Disney villain. Jeremy Irons‘ dark vocal delivery makes the song a scary, yet fantastic tune to listen to, even if he isn’t the finest vocalist. The song’s terrible vibe is enhanced by the scary chorus chanting. While the song is about murdering Mufasa, it’s difficult not to get caught up in the rhythm.
