YouTuber Rachell Marie Hofstetter, better known as Valkyrae, shared some surprising details about her time on the set of the upcoming Minecraft movie, in which she has a cameo role.
Speaking during a Twitch stream with JasonTheWeen, Valkyrae was asked to recount her “worst celebrity or streamer experience.
After thinking it over, Valkyrae revealed that her negative experience occurred during the filming of the Minecraft movie, specifically involving lead actor Jason Momoa. She described witnessing him mistreating crew members.
“It was after a really intense scene, so maybe he was still in character,” she explained, but added that it was still “pretty disappointing” to see how he treated the crew.
Valkyrae went on to describe the incident, saying Momoa was upset about a technical issue and started yelling at the crew for not setting up the shot correctly.
“He was really mad, and it just created a bad work environment,” she said, noting that she wouldn’t have been happy working in those conditions.
In contrast, Jason Momoa has publicly called his experience on the Minecraft movie “one of the greatest times of [his] life,” and said the process was full of laughter. As of now, Momoa has not commented on Valkyrae’s claims.
The Minecraft movie is set to hit theaters on April 5, 2025.
