Delivery Driver Blocks Entitled Car After She Refuses to Move for 15 Seconds

The unwritten code of the road says you respect the “right of weight.” When a massive delivery truck needs space, you give it.

But one entitled driver decided her “few minutes” were more important than a decade-long professional’s efficiency. She learned quickly that pettiness is a two-way street.

This delivery driver, who hauled large jugs of water, had a simple request that was met with pure, selfish refusal. His response? A perfectly executed, karmic piece of petty revenge.

Now, read the full story:

Delivery Driver Blocks Entitled Car After She Refuses to Move for 15 Seconds
Not the actual photo

'Cant take 15 seconds to move your car? Alrighty..?'

So years ago I delivered jugs of water to homes and offices. My work truck was fairly big probably about 35ish feet long.

I had a building I delivered to that had 8-10 stops in it and was one of the few places that had a loading bay for delivery vehicles.

This bay was wide enough for 2 large trucks side by side and long enough for my truck to mostly fit with a bit of the cab sticking out in...

On the other side of the alley was another building, and the dumpsters for said building. These dumpsters were in a position that it could be a little tight to...

This day I pull up and see a small courier car (size of a Honda civic) pull into the bay and stop right at the entrance.

This position is just enough that I cant get the angle I need to be able to nose up to the dumpsters and back into the open spot in the...

Luckily for me the driver was just getting out of the car. So as politely asked if she could back up a couple feet so I could get into the...

Her: I'm only going to be a few minutes.

Me: yes but if u take 5 seconds we can both do what we need to do.

Her: I'll be a few minutes. walks into the building.

So I'm kinda stunned at this point. I've been in the delivery industry for almost a decade most other drivers get that it's a tough job and we can all...

So I think well someone hasn't heard of the right of weight.

So I maneuver my truck nice and tight to the building so as not to block the alleyway while parking perpendicular to the loading dock entrance and blocking her car...

I start loading the first of 2 or 3 cart loads into the build. She comes out and sees my truck.

Her: well isn't this cute. you need to move.

Me: I'll only be a few minutes.

Her: I need to go. Move your truck now.

By this time my cart is loaded and i tell her "it's ok, I'll only be a few minutes." as I walk into the building.

This is the kind of story that makes every service worker cheer. The sheer audacity of the woman, who was willing to completely stall a 35-foot truck and a professional’s schedule just to save herself 15 seconds of effort, is staggering.

The OP’s revenge was not only satisfying but perfectly poetic. He didn’t damage her car or escalate the situation; he simply applied her own logic back to her, forcing her to experience the exact inconvenience she inflicted. This is a masterclass in non-violent, karma-fueled justice.

This interaction perfectly illustrates the clash between professional efficiency and personal entitlement. The OP, a delivery driver, operates under immense pressure. The rise of e-commerce means delivery drivers face immense pressure.

A 2023 report from the National Retail Federation (NRF) noted that last-mile delivery volume has increased by over 40% in the last five years. This makes every minute spent maneuvering a large vehicle and accessing a loading bay critical.

The small car driver, however, operates from a place of perceived superiority. She assumes her time is more valuable than the professional driver’s schedule.

Dr. Gail Saltz, a psychiatrist, notes that this behavior stems from a sense of “perceived superiority.” “When people feel they are more important than others, they feel justified in breaking rules or inconveniencing others because their time is inherently more valuable,” she explains. The woman wasn’t just being rude; she was demonstrating a profound lack of empathy for the service industry. By refusing a simple, polite request, she created a situation that demanded a punitive response. The OP delivered that response perfectly by forcing her to wait the “few minutes” she claimed were so important.

Check out how the community responded:

Redditors overwhelmingly celebrated the OP’s perfect execution of “a taste of her own medicine,” cheering the use of the woman’s own words against her.

ShalomRPh - The best revenge is when you get the chance to throw their own words back at them.

Salsa_El_Mariachi - Oooo way to put a Karen in her place! And yes, she did indeed want to speak to your manager

GimmiePig - That is perfect petty revenge. no harm/no foul!

SlightlyOffKeyPiano - Amazing response. Solid taste of her own medicine

deeznutsiym - You slid right in and grabbed the upper hand. that is SO funny. imagine her thoughts boiling when you left her to wait

Other commenters focused on the common entitlement faced by service workers and the necessity of the “right of weight” rule.

clown572 - I drive a tow truck and many times I'm in the middle of loading a car on my flatbed in a crowded parking lot.

People will walk up to me and tell me that I need to move so they can get out.

I tell them I will be done in another minute or two. For some reason that is not acceptable to them and they start ranting about having places to be...

I always respond with "if I hadn't had to stop to talk to you I'd have been done by now. But feel free to call the number on the truck."

That's always more fun when they call and I answer with "this is going to take all day if you keep interupting me."

PakkyT - Even better would have been to load up half your cart and repeat the process.

A few users noted that while the revenge was satisfying, people this entitled rarely learn their lesson.

[Reddit User] - The only problem with this is that people like her never learn their lesson. It was perfectly acceptable for her to inconvenience you.

Now you're the [jerk] and she's going to spend time complaining about it to many people and they'll agree with her

because she'll never mention that you asked her nicely to move in the first place. Because narcissists.

The OP proved that sometimes, the most effective way to deal with entitlement is to simply mirror the behavior back to the offender. He didn’t just get his spot; he delivered a memorable lesson in professional courtesy and the true meaning of “a few minutes.”

Do you think the driver went too far by blocking her in, or was this the only way to teach her a lesson?
