Internet Stalker Shares Her Private Art, Until She Tracks Him Down and Turns the Tables

by Leona Pham

in Social Issues

Sharing something personal online can come with risks that many people never expect.

What begins as a creative project can sometimes attract unwanted attention from strangers who ignore boundaries and forget there is a real person behind the content.

The original poster experienced that reality after an art project she briefly shared online became the target of repeated harassment.

While she managed to remove the content from many places, one individual continued reposting it, making edits, and using her image in increasingly disturbing ways.

He believed he could stay anonymous forever, but he underestimated the person he was targeting.

Keep reading to find out how she turned the tables.

Woman hunts down an online harasser who thought his identity would stay hidden forever

Internet Stalker Shares Her Private Art, Until She Tracks Him Down and Turns the Tables
not the actual photo

'I stalked my stalker and he did not like it?'

Almost 6 years ago, I made one of my obscure art projects temporarily available online. In it,

I'm n__ed for a few minutes. Those few minutes sparked a wave of obsession from random

dudes online that is still going on to this day - welcome to the internet as a woman 🤪 - and

the video has been shared on many websites, forums and subreddits without my consent.

I've been able to handle most of it and have the video deleted from most of the places it's

been posted on. But there's this one guy who is... really obsessed.

Not only does he follow my socials, but he also sent me screenshots of me n__ed in dm (with

a creepy message "I have your video and there's nothing you can do about it 😏), went to

great length to download the video from the paid, DRM-protected website I posted it on,

shared it and bragged about it on sketchy forums.

Recently he also started making various montages with my video (what a creative young

man!) and posting them on random subreddits as well as on his youtube channel. He even

paid an adult content creator to make a custom video in which she reinact my nude art scene

(wtf?). He also makes memes with my face (??) and posts them around. Overall, not only is he

creepy, but he's also just... really f__king weird.

I messaged him warning him I pressed charges against him (which is true, but you know how

slow the justice system is), but it didn't stop him and he went on making and posting weird

content with me in it.

He obviously thought I would never find him... which is vastly underestimating me. Turns out

I'm much more of a nerd than he seems to think I am, and I have ADHD so I really don't mind

hyperfocusing on really specific things - in this case, finding him.

It also turns out he made quite a few mistakes and is, in fact, much more traceable than he

thinks he is, especially to someone like me who knows how and where to search, and who

doesn't mind searching for just as long as I need to.

I managed to trace him back to pretty much all the usernames he has online, and, finally, to

his actual name and his face. I now know who is is, which neighborhood he lives in,

approximately how old he is, what he looks like, his IP address, what kind of devices he uses,

what video games he plays, but also what his fetishes are and what kind of porn he watches

(spoiler alert: not kinkshaming, but weird-ass stuff).

Turns out this i__ot had sent an email to my art business inbox 4 years ago with his full name

\ I assume he didn't think I would ever connect the dots. He's a rather young dude with a

baby face, probably the least menacing face you've ever seen, so it's really funny to look at

this guy wanting to act like an internet thug. Honestly, when I saw what he looked like, my

first thought was that he needs some good old spanking from his mum to get him back on

track.

So, I gave him a taste of his own medicine. I made a funny meme using his face and I sent it

to him. He deleted his account immediately - a 3yo reddit account he used rather regularly.

That was yesterday and I assume he's still busy shitting himself in fetal position.. Needless to

say, it was extremely satisfying.

Tl;dr: I have a stalker who wouldn't stop posting me n__ed all over the internet anonymously,

I found out who he was and sent him a picture of himself. He's now freaking out.

Edit: since some people rightfully wonder why this account is 3yo and this is my first post and

that's a bit sus, it's because this is an account I initially created solely to report the n__ed

videos of me posted on various subreddits. And this is also the account he messaged me on.

So, maybe he'll see this post, maybe not ;)

Online harassment often begins with what some people dismiss as “just the internet.”

A stolen photo, a reposted video, an anonymous message, or a cruel meme may seem trivial in isolation.

But when those actions become persistent, targeted, and obsessive, they stop being random acts of trolling and start becoming a campaign that can significantly affect a person’s sense of safety and autonomy.

What stands out in this story is not that an artistic project briefly included nudity, but the years of unwanted attention that followed.

According to the poster, one individual repeatedly downloaded and redistributed copyrighted material, sent intimidating direct messages, created edited videos and memes featuring the poster’s likeness, and continued despite being warned that legal action had already been initiated.

Rather than fading away, the behavior reportedly escalated into a pattern of fixation across multiple platforms.

The turning point came when the poster carefully pieced together publicly available information and connected the anonymous online identity to a real individual.

Sending him a simple image of himself, without threats or public exposure, appeared to shatter the confidence that anonymity had given him, leading him to immediately remove one of his long-used accounts.

An important perspective is that many forms of online harassment are fueled by perceived distance and invisibility.

Psychologists refer to this as the online disinhibition effect: people are often more willing to behave aggressively or inappropriately when they believe their identity is hidden and the consequences are unlikely.

That sense of invulnerability can encourage behavior they would never attempt face-to-face.

When confronted with the reality that they are no longer anonymous, the emotional balance often changes dramatically. The confidence built on secrecy can disappear almost instantly.

Viewed through that lens, perhaps the most significant part of the story is not the satisfaction of startling the alleged harasser, but the shift in power.

For years, the poster reportedly felt as though someone else controlled where the content appeared and how it was used.

By documenting evidence, pursuing legal remedies, and identifying the individual behind the anonymous accounts, the poster reclaimed a measure of agency without resorting to public retaliation or vigilantism.

That distinction matters because accountability is strongest when it is supported by evidence rather than emotion alone.

The broader lesson is that anonymity should never be mistaken for immunity.

The internet can create the illusion that actions leave no trace, but persistent harassment often leaves a trail far larger than the person creating it realizes.

At the same time, those targeted by obsessive online behavior should not have to carry that burden alone.

Careful documentation, reporting, and lawful avenues for accountability remain the most effective long-term response, reminding everyone that respect for another person’s privacy and consent does not end when interactions move online.

Here’s the feedback from the Reddit community:

These Redditors wanted the harasser exposed to his family, employer, school, neighbors, or anyone else who could hold him accountable

CocoaAlmondsRock − Does he still live with mommy? Tell HER what he has been doing. Send

the receipts -- and the police report. Let her deal with him. Actually, do that whether he lives

with her or not. Also maybe to his employer. And his neighbors. Too bad this loser doesn't

have an actual human girlfriend you could inform.

the_beefcako − I am so invested in this story. Tell his mother! Tell his school! Tell his work!

Send him mail with glitter in it! Have an attorney draw up a cease and desist and send it to

his house! Burn this guy’s life to the ground.

maestramars − Love it, and love that you didn’t let this POS get away with this. There’s a

TikTok account where a woman goes to people’s jobs and make them read an apology after

they post messed up comments online. She tells them if they don’t she will show their family

and employer what they wrote. You remind me of her, keep your power!

Roadgoddess − I just started following this couple on YouTube that out scum like this.

They’re biracial couple and he called his wife a not very nice slur.

Ends up she’s former military and used to work at the Pentagon as a reporter she was able to

track down who he was, that he was in the military, found photos that he posted of him not

using his military handgun properly in full uniform. She then contacted his command at

Camp Lejeune and reported him for everything.

It was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. In another video, he figured out a guy who had

been harassing him was 40 years old and still live with his mom so he actually called his mom

and left her a message about what her son was doing. All in all it was beautiful.

RickRussellTX − Next, pay somebody to post pictures of him around his neighborhood. “LOST

Have you seen this baby man? ”

This group believed keeping him frightened and uncertain could pressure him into stopping and deleting the content

WomanInQuestion − You’re right, he’s probably terrified that he’s been caught and that

you’re going to expose what he’s done (and possibly what he’s into) to the people he knows.

He deserves the fear he’s experiencing.

azraphin − Nuclear would be to go full out and share/spread his activities everywhere. I'd go

a different route. Just periodically remind him that you have full receipts. Keep him in a state

of constant uncertainty and low level fear. Cold war rather than nuclear holocaust.

mmcksmith − Print the meme and send it from a different city to his house. Nothing written

on it, no threats, no "see? I can find you too", no return address. Just the printed meme in an

envelope. Seriously, this is a situation where "respect is good, but fear will do the job". As you

pointed out, he needs a spanking, and sometimes it takes a village.

Gifted_GardenSnail − I think he deserves some more memes sent to more accounts. Perhaps

you can scare him into deleting everything 🤔

What began as an artist trying to protect an old project turned into years of dealing with an obsessive online stalker who refused to stop crossing boundaries.

Many readers applauded the poster for documenting the harassment, working with law enforcement, and cleverly showing the stalker he was no longer anonymous.

Others cautioned that, while the moment was undeniably satisfying, personal safety should always come before revenge.

What do you think? Was sending the meme a justified way to scare off a persistent harasser, or would you have left everything entirely in the hands of the authorities? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
