Harry Hamlin has joined on for a show permanent part in Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches on AMC, as well as a minor part in the Paramount Pictures and Endeavor Content feature 80 for Brady.
The earlier show, centered around Rice’s Lives of the Mayfair Witches trilogy, was scripted and executive directed by showrunner Esta Spalding (Masters of Sex, On Becoming a God in Central Florida) and Michelle Ashford (Masters of Sex, The Pacific). It tells the story of a perceptive young neurosurgeon who realizes she is the unusual successor to a witch lineage. She now deals with a malevolent ghost that has tormented her bloodline for decades while she wrestles with her sudden abilities.
It is his first show permanent role in almost 2 decades, Harry Hamlin will portray Cortland Mayfair, the current ruling patriarch of the Mayfair dynasty with an insatiable thirst for more wealth, more power, and more health. He returns to the channel after receiving an Emmy nomination for his role as Jim Cutler on Mad Men, where he played Cutler, Gleason, and Chaough’s associate.
After Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches is the second show in a growing Anne Rice world on AMC. Later this year, it will air on both AMC and AMC+. Mark Johnson’s Gran Via Productions is also exec producing the show.

Yang, as well as Brady, who has won seven Super Bowls.
Kyle Marvin, who co-wrote and acted in Sony Pictures Classics’ The Climb and is presently appearing in Apple TV+’s WeCrashed, is the film’s director. The current edition of the screenplay was written by Marvin and his collaborator Michael Covino, based on a draft by Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins (Booksmart). The movie was created by Endeavor Content (The Lost Daughter, Cha Cha Real Smooth) alongside Brady and Academy Award winner Donna Gigliotti (Hidden Figures), with international rights acquired by Paramount Pictures last month. Brady’s production business, 199 Productions, is creating with Gigliotti and Endeavor Content, with Marvin and Covino exec managing under their Watch This Ready brand, plus Jeff Stott.
The 40th anniversary of Harry Hamlin’s final big studio project, the breakthrough LBGTQ+ romance Making Love, fell on Valentine’s Day this year. The star is well recognized for his roles in the cult classic Clash of the Titans and as attorney Michael Kuzak on Stephen Bochco’s L.A. Law, for which he was nominated for three Golden Globes.
