Marv Albert, the legendary NBA broadcaster, said goodbye to his fans recently with a simple “good night.”
Marv Albert completed his 55-year career with TNT, as the Milwaukee Bucks upset the Atlanta Hawks in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals, with his characteristic “Yes!” call when someone made a vital jump shot.
Who is Marv Albert?
Starting in 1963 and continuing through the team’s championship years of 1969 and 1973, the 80-year-old Brooklyn native was the team’s longstanding voice. Marv Albert also called basketball games for the New Jersey Nets and hockey games for the New York Rangers, as well as football, horse racing, boxing, and tennis.
Marv Albert, who is a member of the NBA Hall of Fame, called nine NBA Finals, seven Stanley Cup Finals, and eight Super Bowls. He has called the Wimbledon Tennis Championship and served as a cohost and reporter for two World Series.
