Remember all the commotions Marvel caused earlier this week with Agatha‘s fourth title change? The entire community was confused with the studio’s uncalled decision, some even believed that it was a well-crafted joke for marketing purposes.
Well, it turns out to be an actual joke, alright. Because today, Marvel Studios just announced the real title for the upcoming Agatha Harkness series, and it’s definitely not The Lying Witch and the Great Wardrobe.
Marvel Studios has now officially announced the real title for the series: Agatha All Along. This title reveal coincides with the release date announcement, confirming that the series will begin streaming on Disney+ with the first two episodes on Wednesday, September 18. The announcement comes with a teaser as well, which you can watch right here:

After Kathryn Hahn‘s breakout role in WandaVision, it was clear that Agatha Harkness had more stories to tell. Marvel Studios is taking this opportunity to delve deeper into her intriguing backstory and misadventures in the MCU. The series, which was developed under the watchful eye of WandaVision executive producer Jac Schaeffer, will extend over nine episodes, offering the magic that Agatha could bring to the table.
The title Agatha All Along cleverly references the catchy tune that revealed Agatha’s true identity in WandaVision. The song was a hit with fans and perfectly captured the whimsical yet sinister essence of Harkness, who’s definitely one of the most favorite new characters post-Endgame. It’s fitting, then, that this title was chosen for her solo venture, reflecting the playful and mysterious tone Marvel aims to continue for the series
The new title also sits well with fans more than the last two. While Darkhold Diaries and The Lying Witch and the Great Wardrobe were met with criticism, Agatha All Along is much simpler, but it’s a brilliant nod to Agatha’s presence in WandaVision, and her unique ability to break the fourth wall and interact with the audience. The triple-A also has a nice ring to it as well.
There was also a theory on the Internet suggesting that all the title changes before for the spinoff series were just the names of the episodes, and it was all a well-made marketing stunt from Marvel to introduce Agatha to fans in the most immersive way possible. And with the studio’s announcement today, at least we know that half the theory is true.
While it might upset some fans, this unique marketing strategy certainly stands out as one of the more entertaining campaigns in recent Marvel history by fully capitalizing on Agatha’s breaking-the-fourth-wall ability and her iconic tune in WandaVision, and it’s all the more reason for us to anticipate Agatha All Along this September.
Agatha All ALong will hit Disney+ on September 18, and if the marketing and build-up to the series premiere are anything to go by, following the developments of Agatha Harkness and the spinoff series will be an intriguing ride.
