The new MCU production Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever is a hot topic for every movie lover these days. The film recounts a story happening inside the futuristic country of Wakanda. Many new names appear in the second Black Panther movie, including Namor and RiRi Williams. Among these strange characters, Midnight Angels arouse the audience’s curiosity for their cool titles. So, who are they exactly?

Black Panther 2 revolves around the war between the Kingdom of Wakanda and the undersea nation of Tlalocan and King T’Challa. Shuri (Letitia Wright), Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o), Okoye (Danai Gurira), and other leaders of Wakanda strive to fight for their nation. The Midnight Angels play a significant role during the battle and likely appear in more future projects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Black Panther’s director, Ryan Coogler, reveals that he and his production company Proximity Media are planning to produce multiple series about the African kingdom for Disney+. The filmmaker is also producing “Ironheart”, a byproduct with the participation of Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams.

The Dora Milaje could be seen as bodyguards and soldiers of the Wakandan royal family. On Marvel’s website, the Midnight Angels are the “best of the best of the Dora”, who pledge loyalty to King T’Challa and the royal family. In both the comics and the movie, the Midnight Angels use stealth suits that allow them to fly. They use Kimoyo Beads to communicate and Vibranium weapons with a stealth Quinjet called Dagger to accomplish their missions. Some outstanding members of the team are Aneka, Ayo, and Teela.

These warriors appear mainly in the Doctor Doom storyline. When Vibranium from Wakanda is stolen by the supervillain, they are gathered by King T’Challa to prevent him from conquering their country.
The Midnight Angels are determined to protect the entire country after noticing the Royal family’s suspicion. They fight with corrupt chieftains and bandits who enslave and defile women and finally resist orders from King T’Challa. Aneka is arrested after killing a chieftain but then is rescued out of confinement thanks to Ayo. The couple defects from the Dora Milaje and liberates oppressed Wakandans that are ignored by the King.
