Petty Revenge Gone Feathered: How Crows Became Her Secret Weapon

It started like any ordinary suburban annoyance: one neighbor’s truck collection swallowing every free parking space, including yours, while dirt bikes tore up lawns and the dog seemed to claim every front yard as its personal restroom.

Our Redditor had enough. Instead of confronting the neighbor directly, he turned to nature’s smartest problem-solvers: the local crow population. And the results? Pure, feathery chaos.

Craving the full feathered felony? Dive into the original caw below!

My neighbor takes up all the parking spaces on the street so I made friends with the birds?

Simple petty revenge. I have a neighbor who takes up all the (free) parking on our street, and in front of my home, with his trucks, (8 or 10 of...

like drive his dirt bikes through my front yard and letting his dog crap there (right in front of me!) I befriended the local family of crows by feeding them...

Now I will occasionally see 5 or 6 crows waiting patiently in the tree in front of my house, crapping, and looking especially creepy (but surprisingly not making a whole...

They have also not crapped on my car in my driveway once, (not once!) in all the the past months I've been treating them.

The trees mostly cover the street area anyway. Edit: If you know crows, they are legion, and if my neighbor decides to retaliate, there will surely be a full on...

Training the Ultimate Feathery Task Force

Every day, he set out treats, peanuts, berries, and small leftover food. Gradually, the crows recognized him, flocking to the yard, perching strategically, and observing the streets like little black-feathered sentinels.

Then the fun began. One by one, the neighbor’s trucks started getting “decorated.” Poop splats appeared on windshields, hoods, and roof racks with terrifying precision.

Other neighbors’ cars remained untouched. It was subtle, targeted, and hilarious. The trucks’ owner had no idea why his vehicles were suddenly a mess or why the birds seemed to hate him so much.

Why This Isn’t Just Mischief – It’s Genius

From the truck owner’s side, maybe there’s an explanation. Storage issues, laziness, or simply thinking “my street, my rules” could all be factors.

But in the eyes of the Redditor and his feathered allies, convenience doesn’t excuse rudeness. If vehicles were Pokémon, the neighbor collected them all, while the crows evolved into a precision strike team ready to enforce consequences.

Studies confirm this approach’s brilliance. A 2024 Audubon report notes that crows are among Earth’s smartest species, capable of remembering faces for years.

Ornithologist John Marzluff explains, “Crows recognize benefactors and punish threats, sharing intel across generations.” The Redditor’s treats bought loyalty, while the trucks earned relentless feathery attacks.

Could This Have Been Avoided from the Beginning?

Absolutely. Clear communication, neighborhood agreements, and proper parking permits could have prevented the street from turning into a truck jungle. The Redditor could have spoken with the neighbor, suggested alternative spots, or involved the homeowners’ association.

But stubborn human nature often ignores reason. The crow strategy, subtle yet effective, turned out far better than polite conversation ever could.

The Eco-Friendly Side of Revenge

There’s an ecological silver lining here too. Feeding urban wildlife carefully can help sustain bird populations, improve biodiversity, and even bring daily joy.

The Redditor didn’t overfeed or create dependency; he simply rewarded the birds’ loyalty while letting them handle the messy business. It’s a brilliant example of human-animal collaboration and a reminder that cleverness doesn’t need confrontation.

Lessons in Creative Problem Solving

The crows acted as silent enforcers, following invisible rules with pinpoint accuracy. The trucks? Slowly, daily, they learned a lesson in consequences.

Redditors praised the creativity, some joking about squirrel squads, raccoon strike teams, or “avian neighborhood watch.” Others warned of possible escalation but for now, the plan worked brilliantly.

Here’s the comments of Reddit users:

So, Reddit, what’s your verdict? Are these birds avian heroes or just flying troublemakers?

CorktownGuy − How Machiavellian you are to involve a m__der of crows in your revenge plot!

nursingintheshadows − Feed them berries for rainbow shits. It’s art. Also, you can throw unwrapped bouillon cubes in your neighbors yard when it’s sprinkling out side.

The cubes will melt in the light rain into the grass making his dogs dig for the delicious smell.

ropony − I bought an old fixer-upper two houses in from the lake. Huge wrap-around porch with a porchswing to sit and watch the boats go by, brought me peace...

The street has a “no parking more than 2 hours” rule, which I love because I don’t want to look at people’s f__king cars,

and people on the street are mostly good about abiding by it. Well, apparently there’s a neighbor around the corner, on the lake, who doesn’t like the look of his...

so he decided to start parking right in my eyeline of the water, right on the corner of the street.

So I just started walking my dog right by it on our usual route, but anytime the car was there I’d have a few handfuls of birdseed in my pocket...

It took a few days but he must have realized our street is bird territory and his driveway isn’t so bad after all. I do want to befriend some crows...

Would you recruit a feathered squad to defend your driveway, call the cops, or let petty parking slide?

TheAnti-Karen − Crows are incredibly intelligent and they are absolutely not crapping on your car because you are feeding them that is the only reason they are avoiding your car...

That being said you can absolutely entice them to do things for you because they like to make you happy so you feed them

And if he messes with them they will tell other crows and he will never get peace ever again. Most all Corvies are the petty a holes of the bird...

TheBlonde1_2 − Crows are frighteningly intelligent. I reckon you and your crew could cook up some real mischief if you put your minds to it.

SweetMaam − Yes, crows remember individual humans. Nice humans and not nice humans get discussed among crows. Never be unkind to a crow, they tell their friends.

Organic_Start_420 − Are his trucks owned by a company? Cause if they're not private vehicles you should inquire with the authorities if they are allowed to park in a residential...

Share your own clever revenge ideas, crazy neighborhood stories, or even just laugh at this feathered justice saga, let’s see who’s bold enough to let the crows decide!

jessjoyvin − I read a story once about how a group of friends dressed up as cops (IIRC for Halloween) and they chased after and harassed the crows in town.

Then the crows associated the real cops as the aggressors and (again IIRC) would go after the cops in town, and it happened for years.

Beneficial-Energy198 − Love that word m__der for a bunch of crows!

Whywouldanyonedothat − You're an accessory to a m__der! This doesn't belong in r/pettyrevenge!

Feathers Over Fury

This suburban showdown proves a simple truth: cleverness, patience, and a little help from nature can restore balance when humans fail to play nice. Would you feed a crow army to protect your driveway?

Could you watch a truck fleet slowly lose its shine thanks to feathery revenge? And most importantly, how far would you go to defend your curb space?
