When you’re a celebrity, it might be difficult to keep your relationship out of the public eye, with the paparazzi chasing you and journalists constantly quizzing you about your romantic relationships. With an abundance of red carpet premieres, A-list award shows, and lavish parties, it’s no wonder so many famous people end up together. And some familiar famous couples that you can easily recognize like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, and Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.
Even so, some celebs have managed to keep their blossoming relationships a secret, and some of it happened so long ago that we didn’t even realize it! Today we are going to list couples who always keep their relationship closed and don’t keep an eye on the public. Keep reading for more details and let me know how many of these you know about.
#1 Courteney Cox and Michael Keaton

They were together for over six years until choosing to split up in July 1995. Just a few months after the separation, Courteney Cox said, “It’s the most important relationship I’ve ever had, and I think he’s the most wonderful person I’ve ever met.” A ring on the actress’ hand had initially sparked speculation about an engagement, but she subsequently confirmed that it was actually her grandmother’s jewelry.
#2 Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds

Before around ten years ago, Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds were a famous Hollywood couple who got engaged in 2008 and wed in September of the same year. Their union lasted a little less than three years before their differences made it impossible for them to be together. They made the announcement of their breakup in 2010, and their divorce was granted in 2011.
#3 Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow

In 1994, they began dating while acting as a couple in Seven, and their relationship lasted until 1997. They had a 9-year age gap at the time because she was 24. The couple was on the verge of getting married when the actress panicked out. This was Paltrow’s first prominent romance with another star.
#4 Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford

In the 1990s, Richard Gere was among the most well-known actors due to his role in the classic movie Pretty Woman. Cindy Crawford was also a well-known supermodel at the time. They rose to fame as one of the era’s most well-liked couples. Only their closest friends were invited to their impromptu Las Vegas wedding in 1991, where they were wed. Crawford was 25 and Gere was 42. But the breakup came soon after in 1995.
#5 Uma Thurman and Gary Oldman

The Kill Bill badass married Gary, who is 12 years her senior, back in 1990. They divorced two years later, and Gary is now on wife number five, Gisele Schmidt. Uma wed Ethan Hawke in 1998, but they split in 2005.
#6 Jennifer Garner and Scott Foley

When they first met in 1998, the young actors had only recently started to establish a reputation for themselves in the entertainment business. On the TV show Felicity, they collaborated. When they were both 28 years old, they got married in 2000. The couple chose to split up in 2003 after Jennifer rose to fame in the meantime. Garner claimed that despite their claims that everything was done peacefully, she and Foley were “really victims of Hollywood.”
#7 Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel

Both are regarded as major figures in European cinema. While they were making the 1996 film The Apartment, they fell in love. Even though they were a couple for 14 years and had two kids, they divorced in 2013. Due to their fame as an iconic couple in the film industry and their enormous popularity, their divorce was widely reported in the tabloids at the time.
#8 Salma Hayek and Edward Norton

Salma Hayek and Edward Norton were enjoying successful periods in their individual acting careers towards the end of the 1990s. They were also maintaining a loving relationship at the time, although few people now are aware of it. Their relationship started in 1999, and lasted till 2003. They were able to adequately secure their personal lives throughout this period. We may not truly think of them as a couple anymore because they made so few public appearances. Except, of course, when it entailed filming a movie, like when they collaborated on the movie Frida, they naturally didn’t allow themselves to be seen together in front of the cameras.
#9 Johnny Depp and Kate Moss

When she was 20 and he was 31, they first got together. Depp was already a very well-known actor, and Moss was a young, popular model who ruled the industry. They had a relationship full of controversy, mischief, and excess that cost thousands of dollars in damage to a hotel room that was damaged. They made the decision to end their relationship in 1997, about three years into it. However, they were spotted together once again in 1998 at the Cannes Film Festival.
#10 Natalie Portman and Gael Garcia Bernal

Gael Garcia Bernal and Natalie Portman began dating in 2006, and during this time, they were frequently spotted together in public settings including the 2007 US Open Tennis Championships and Berlin’s China Club. Since then, though, Bernal later moved on to a romance with Argentinian actress Dolores Fonzi from 2008 to 2014, while Portman eventually married French dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied in 2012.
#11 Julia Roberts and Kiefer Sutherland

These two stars shared credits in the movie Flatliners, where they also experienced romantic arousal. They even got engaged, and their wedding was scheduled on June 14 in Los Angeles. But Julia Roberts truly became a runaway bride when, two days before the ceremony, she called off the nuptials and fled to Ireland with Kiefer’s buddy Jason Patric. In 2016, Kiefer discussed it and expressed his admiration for his then-bravery girlfriend in making that call. Not everybody would dare to do that…
#12 Sofia Vergara and Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise and Sofia Vergara had a brief relationship in 2005. However, as was made clear in the actor’s official biography, Tom treated this relationship differently since he went above and above to get to know her and afterwards desired to wed her. Sofia, on the other hand, did not share Cruise’s interest in Scientology, which caused a rift before their breakup.
#13 Bradley Cooper and Renée Zellweger

Cooper said at the time that they became together while starring in the movie Case 39. They began dating in 2009, and they were together till 2011. Given that they were always very private and avoided being photographed together frequently, very little is known about the circumstances behind their breakup.

Before becoming one of the most well-known couples in the entertainment business, Beyoncé and Jay-Z dated for a while in the early 2000s, according to the actress Rosario Dawson. But they never mentioned it or actually spoke to the media about it. Most reporters who have written on the subject now think they dated for around three years.

Actress Naomi Watts and actor Heath Ledger dated for two years. On the Ned Kelly set in 2002, when she was astounded by Ledger’s acting intensity, their love developed. They started a romantic relationship that, as we previously reported, lasted two years, but they spent some time apart in 2003. Watts still has happy memories of the actor despite his tragic passing. “We had a beautiful relationship, just for a couple of years, but he was a man who was completely full of joy, and there was a lot of laughing and affection in him,” Watts recalled.
