The theme for Met Gala 2022 was “Gilded Glamour”, which is a homage to the rapid growth and industrialization of the US from the 1870s to the 1890s. In particular, this year’s Met Gala celebrated themes of luxury and excess. Within the context of 2022, the annual event was unsurprisingly met??? with mixed reviews.
Many social media users agree that this year’s Met Gala is too “out of touch”, with all sorts of events happening around the globe such as growing economic inequality in the States, the war between Russia and Ukraine, and severe inflation worldwide.
