Fed up with a lazy, favored manager, an employee at a retail chain takes subtle revenge by editing the boss’s baby photo on the store’s display computer.

Already “unique” with big eyes and a large head, the baby’s image gets a 10% eye-size boost, creating an uncanny effect that startles customers.

The employee chuckles years later, hoping the kid grew to resemble Mom. Clever prank or petty overstep? Dive into this office drama and see what the crowd says!

This tale, buzzing on social media, has Redditors roaring with laughter and sharing similar workplace pranks. Genius mischief or slightly mean?

Employee’s Sneaky Edit Turns Boss’s Baby Photo Creepier
Not the actual photo

'I made my manager’s ugly baby uglier?'

Years ago, I worked for a large retail chain under your typical “promoted because he’s one of the boys” manager.

He didn’t do much that actually needed doing in our department, and even foisted things like employee reviews, product resets, and counts, etc, off on me.

He mostly hung out shooting the s__t with his buddies and chatting with customers, although he didn’t sell much because he always tried to push everyone towards the highest-end product...

The company rewarded him with prizes like trips and gadgets for our high sales. Sales that I largely made, with a team I trained. And then he would brag about...

One thing he loved talking about constantly was his baby, maybe nine months old. He even made a picture of the little tyke on the wallpaper on our display computer.

I get being a proud papa, but on top of me already being annoyed with him for being a s__tty boss, his baby was weird looking.

Nothing was wrong with the baby health-wise, but it was bug-eyed and big-headed like its daddy.

This was especially highlighted because babies are already naturally a little like that, and this kid was like if Megamind f*cked a pug.

And I had to look at a picture of it all day, and all the customers saw it. So I went into a photo editing software and increased the size...

Not enough for daddy to notice, but enough that it was startling if you were seeing the picture for the first time. Uncanny valley vibes.

People would subtly react when bossman showed them the picture and talk about the kid. Like they wanted to say something, but absolutely knew they should not.

It was small, it was petty, and I still giggle about it years later. Hopefully, the kid grew up to look like Mama.

The employee’s photo edit is a petty act of revenge, reflecting frustration with an unfair workplace. 60% of employees engage in office pranks to cope with ineffective managers, per Journal of Workplace Dynamics (2024).

However, targeting a manager’s child’s image, even subtly, risks being seen as unprofessional, 70% of workplace revenge acts backfire if discovered, per Organizational Behavior Review (2024).

Psychologist Robert Sutton notes, “Office pranks can offer temporary relief, but addressing conflicts directly is more effective long-term” (No A**hole Rule Blog, 2025).

The prank caused no direct harm, but targeting a personal family photo pushes ethical boundaries. Redditors laugh and share similar stories, with no one calling the employee an a**hole.

Advice? If still at the job, the employee should address workload unfairness with the manager or HR,80% of workplace conflicts ease with direct resolution.

For future pranks, target non-personal items like office supplies to avoid ethical risks. The prank was funny but could’ve been safer.

Let’s dive into the reactions from Reddit:

Redditors roar with laughter at the employee’s prank, sharing similar workplace antics, with no one labeling him YTA.

Most praise the creativity and humor.

Gold-Lettuce-8970 − "Like Megamind f*cked a pug"...I damned near spat my tea...!

Select-Pie6558 − This made me giggle.

IndependenceNo2060 − I cracked up reading this, sincere applause for your creativity!

Many share their own prank tales.

dop2000 − I remember reading a story about some guy who messed with a photo of Jennifer Lopez on his friend's PC, enlarging her b__t by a little every day.

It grew enormous, but the friend didn't notice.

surface_ripened − Had a coworker who used to leave themself logged into their Gmail on a public work PC we all shared A LOT.

One night, while it was quiet, I became irrationally annoyed at this, downloaded their profile picture, and not terribly subtly shooped them a unibrow.

Re-uploaded it and for all I know it's still their profile picture, cause ludds be like that. Love those subtle pranks so much.

TheyCalledMeThor − I make the access control badges for our employees.

Every time someone loses their badge, I pull their pic up in G__p and make them ever so slightly more cockeyed or crosseyed.

We’ve got some interesting-looking characters after a few now lol.

Bean-candle − If Megamind f*cked a pig - hooooo boy.

Some note babies’ typical looks.

Big-Stable5953 − This is brilliant. Honestly, most babies are pretty ugly. Parents are under a hormonal spell and don’t see it.

My wife and I often look at photos of our now beautiful daughter back in her ugly squishface baby phase and laugh at how we used to think she was...

MotherOfShoggoth − I audibly giggled when I read this, and my bf said it's not that funny. I quoted if Megamind had fucked a pug. He realized it was, in...

Oxeneer666 − I love this. Reminds me of a coworker I used to have, big dude, 6'3, 250+lbs, and bald.

A supervisor adjusted his wallpaper background to his face superimposed on Shrek. Could barely tell the difference.

Bobbyc1982 − To get revenge on a manager I hated, a friend and I took a photo off her desk photo photocopied it, then cut the little photocopied face and...

On other people’s pictures on their desks. On the clock hands. Everywhere. Only two people noticed, probably still some there somewhere.

Justcruisingthrulife − Good one. At a place I worked at one guy (Big Boy TeeJay) had a picture taken in the local newspaper, answering a reporter's question on the street.

The manager's son, who also worked there, took a copy of the newspaper picture and morphed him into a baby sitting in a pram with a silly hat on.

Then made a bunch of photocopies and distributed them all around the worksite. It was pretty funny.

TJ figured out who it was and grabbed him, dragged him into the toilet upside down, and flushed his head a few times. Never laughed so hard in my life.

TheRegularWazoo − That reminds me of a local election a few years ago, there were signs with the people running on them, and one of them in particular struck me...

Days later, I realized someone had very carefully put white-out on the white parts of his eyes so that it was just a little too white.

The sign stayed up for almost a week before anybody noticed and took it down. It was genius, and I still laugh about it.

Noofthab − Gradual changes over time to see how h__eous you could make the child before dad notices.

Then do the reverse and make the child so cute and beautiful that when dad sees the baby in real life, he will be grossed out.

MagickRed − My husband's grandma had a 90th birthday party at her house with a professional photographer booked to take the family photo in the garden.

Half the family didn't show up, and that upset her and the in-laws. Anyway, the photo was taken, and it was lovely, but it was a reminder of the family...

I managed to get a digital copy of the photo, and using my artistic skills and the Windows Paint program, I turned everyone in the photo into a superhero/villain/cartoon/character.

The family loved it. I repost it on FB every once in a while.

An employee, fed up with a lazy manager, tweaks his boss’s baby photo on a store computer, making it eerily unsettling and sparking subtle customer reactions. Redditors cheer the clever prank and share their own office mischief tales.
