Guy Lies on a Dating App – Ends Up Getting His Privates Waxed as Payback

in Social Issues

A woman and her husband, happily married for four years, were raising their one-year-old son. They got along great with his older brother but clashed with the younger one, who always tossed out sexist and racist remarks at family gatherings.

For years, she bit her tongue to keep the peace, but motherhood changed her, she didn’t want her son exposed to that toxicity. Before an anniversary dinner at her in-laws’, she asked her husband to confront his younger brother’s behavior.

He agreed but stayed silent when the brother, loosened by wine, spewed offensive comments again. Fed up, she snapped, telling him to shut up if he couldn’t say anything decent. The room froze, dinner ended quickly, and they left.

The next day, her mother-in-law sent a furious text, blaming her for ruining the anniversary. Now she’s wondering if she was wrong, though she’d simply hit her breaking point.

Want the full scoop? Check it out below!

I made a dude get his nuts waxed on the first date after he lied to me?

When I was in my early 20’s and online dating was just starting, I made a profile and said I was just not going to be into two things: smokers...

Just that. You could be anything else and if the chemistry is there, we are all good.

I meet this guy early in the morning for a breakfast date and we are hitting it off averagely.

No sparks but no red flags. The date goes for 2.5 hours (breakfast taking forever) until we are splitting the bill and he tells me he has a kid.

I ask him if he read my profile to know that I was not interested in that and he says “yes, I read that

but knew that if you just spent some time with me, you’d see how great I am and how you’d be willing to see passed that.”

I was floored as now he wasted 3 hours of my life and was okay with being a liar.

That was unacceptable to me. I said “well I don’t want this date to end

but I have to go across town to get my Brazilian (where they take all the hair off including the b__ hole)

done in an hour. Want to come with me and get one too? It’s not painful (a total lie) and I think it’s attractive on men to be clean there.

No pressure but I’m pretty busy the rest of the week and this is my only free day.”

He was all about following me anywhere. I told the ladies that this was his first time and that they should take everything including the b__t.

He held my hand between a curtain and we both got them done at the same time.

He screamed a lot but was a champ and went through with it. I made him pay for his own and never called him again.

If you are out there, Chris, please don’t lie to women on the first date. It’s a really bad way to start a relationship.

Edit: wow. Well… it seems like most people have had three general reactions:

1. 👏🏾 this is delightfully petty, 2. You’re a horrible person plus other explicatives and 3. This is fake.

1. Thank you all for the validation that online dating sucks for all genders and you shouldn’t go into it with a lie

2. Yeah I am a horrible person

3. It’s not fake but you can think so if you want. When I was in my early 20’s I did a lot of things I would maybe still do...

And to all of those sending me messages calling me n__ty things behind your keyboards, this is pettyrevenge, so you came here for this s__t.

Expert Opinion: When a Dating Lie Sparks a Waxy Retribution

This story feels straight out of a rom-com where payback comes with a side of hot wax. The date began well, with fun conversation and breakfast vibes.

But when the guy admitted he had a kid, after she had made it clear that was a dealbreaker, the tone shifted instantly. It’s one thing to hope for chemistry, but ignoring someone’s boundaries? That’s asking for trouble.

As one commenter, franxet, put it, “It’s frustrating when people think you’ll get over your dealbreakers like they know better than you.”

So, the woman decided to make a point, literally through a waxing strip. Her logic was simple: he lied, she’d give him a little taste of discomfort.

Another commenter, Backupusername, joked that she gave him a “smooth reminder” not to lie again.

While many cheered her on for creativity, some like imangelaslastegg questioned how she even got him to go through with it, saying, “Holding hands during a wax? That’s either fake or legendary.”

But beyond the laughs, the story hits a deeper truth about honesty in dating. People often ignore what others clearly say they want, thinking they can charm their way around it.

According to a 2024 Pew Research study, more than half of online daters, 54%, have been lied to about important details like having kids, smoking, or age.

These lies might seem small, but they add up to mistrust that ruins potential connections.

Relationship expert Dr. Logan Levkoff agrees: “Honesty upfront builds respect; deception undermines any chance of connection”.

And while her revenge was funny, it didn’t really solve the problem. It just turned an awkward date into a viral story.

Still, you can’t deny the satisfaction. He thought he could lie his way into her good graces, and instead, he left the salon with a painful lesson.

As one user, OstentatiousSock, noted, “He got waxed, she got closure, seems fair!”

Yet another, qat-21, pointed out that the better move would’ve been to end the date immediately, saying, “You can’t teach integrity with a waxing strip.”

So, was she right to get even? Maybe, maybe not. But her story sparked a bigger conversation about what happens when people treat dating as a game.

The Lesson Hidden Beneath the Wax

When someone says, “I don’t want to date someone with kids,” it’s not an invitation to convince them otherwise. It’s honesty.

At the same time, the woman’s revenge, while hilarious, also shows how frustration can turn into pettiness.

It’s tempting to get back at someone who wastes your time, but most relationship experts say it’s better to walk away with dignity.

Dr. Levkoff explains that “true closure comes from self-respect, not retaliation.”

The waxing episode might make for a great story, but it doesn’t heal the disappointment of being lied to.

If anything, it proves how much lies in dating can bring out the worst in both sides.

The man thought his lie was harmless, and she thought revenge would make her feel better. In the end, both walked away a little burned, one emotionally, one physically.

Maybe that’s the real takeaway: dating only works when people are honest about who they are and what they want. Lies waste time, energy, and trust.

If you find out someone’s been dishonest, the best “revenge” might be walking away with your head high and letting karma handle the rest.

Here’s how people reacted to the post:

Some thought it was the funniest revenge they’d ever heard, while others thought she went too far.

Backupusername − "You told me it wouldn't hurt!"

"Yes, but I knew that if you just spent some time on it, you'd be able to see past that."

qat-21 − Not all heroes have carpet

franxet − The amount of times a smoker would hit on me online despite having a big “no smokers” in my profile.

Once you learn they smoke, they will hit you with the “but I won’t smoke when I am with you”. That’s not the point! !

Others were more serious, calling it “immature” or “petty.”

TarzanKitty − I once made a guy get his nipple pierced on the first date.

Notaswordmaster − I was on a datingsite many years ago, and i was quite active in The forums.

There was a topic that came up several times, and it was the “kids” thing. Cause when registering you had to fill in a long form, uses to match you...

One of the things you had to answer was the “is it acceptable that the other person had kids”.

The reason the topic came up is the same thing that happened to OP here.

A lot of women said they had filled out the form saying they didn’t have kids, because “the man had to get to know them to find out if they...

And that shouldn’t be based on them having a kid or not”. I mean… there is a reason for the question.

[Reddit User] − Forget my idols, you are now my idol. I aspire to be the woman you are.

Sunnies and handbags down to you, you absolute queen. Keep being you

OstentatiousSock − I can’t tell you how many men still messaged me

when they have kids and I said emphatically I am absolutely not interested in raising someone else’s kids.

I’ve already raised 3 children who aren’t mine and I just don’t have it in me anymore.

From my experience, not just with the ones I raised, but with others who raised children that aren’t there own,

you’re always second banana to the bio parents and, while that’s understandable, it’s quite painful.

Especially if you’re the one doing way more than the bio parents.

Guys always ignore it, even after I ask them upon their first message if they’ve thoroughly read my profile

and saw that I’m not interested if they have minor children(I’m old enough the men I dare could have adult children, which is fine).

A few even questioned if it really happened at all.

bapnbrunchberries − I really hope this is real.

AcrobaticSource3 − I would sooner let wildlife take residence in my panties than ever get another Brazilian

imangelaslastegg − I’ve never heard of people getting waxed at the same time and holding hands through a curtain. I can’t see that logistically working either

A Waxing Revenge That Stings

This wild dating tale leaves us laughing but also thinking. Was it a clever payback for dishonesty, or did she take things too far?

The truth is, her anger made sense. No one likes to feel tricked. But revenge, no matter how creative, rarely brings peace.

Maybe the next time someone lies on a date, the best move isn’t hot wax, it’s a cool exit. Because in the end, honesty might hurt for a moment, but lies and pettiness? They sting a lot longer.

What do you think? Was this a well-deserved lesson or just a petty prank gone too far? Would you have done the same or walked away with your dignity (and skin) intact?
