My Neighbor Let Her Dogs Poop in My Yard—So I Started Throwing My Own Poop Back

There are some neighborhood disputes that start over loud music, parking spaces, or an overgrown hedge.

Then there are disputes that somehow escalate into a full-blown war involving dog feces, surveillance cameras, nighttime disguises, and, eventually, human poop.

This is one of those stories.

The homeowner who shared it admitted right away that the title made them sound completely unhinged. Under normal circumstances, they considered themselves a fairly reasonable person. They understood that dogs sometimes poop during walks, and they weren’t expecting every dog owner to carry a perfect supply of bags at all times.

Once or twice? Fine.

My Neighbor Let Her Dogs Poop in My Yard—So I Started Throwing My Own Poop Back

'I've been throwing my own s__t into a nearby neighbors yard for about 2 weeks?'

Ok... Listen. This lady walks her two dobermans past my house practically everyday. Our house is on the way to the dog park a few blocks down.

Despite how my post title makes me clearly sound deranged, I am usually a pretty reasonable human. I totally understand that a person might not always have a dog poop...

\*S__t happens\* I get it. Once or twice, I'm not going to make a big stink over anything. It comes with the territory. Live near a dog park, dogs are...

Ok, but this lady, is such a biiiiitch, guys. Several weeks back, like the beginning of summer. I was sitting out in our yard with my two year old

This lady, who is always talking on speakerphone as she walks these two dogs, stops at our yard. Not because her dogs were pooping either. I was sitting like 20...

It was SO the dogs could poop. She's got those leashes that extend and zip back, I don't know what they're called. But she is just letting them sniff all...

And I've got practically a baby over here. Get your dogs off my lawn. Ya know? But I'm just staring at her and holding my kid, saying stuff like "Oh,...

We get some neighbor cats that hang out by our bird feeder and we sometimes go pet them, so I'm guessing there are some interesting smells. Again, I'm not just...

I bring my daughter inside and come back out to one of the dogs finally assuming the position and laying down a fat one, right in the good sunny spot....

No a f__k to give. I couldn't believe it. But again, I could have told her to drag her armpit wrinkles back here and take her winnings, but I decided...

So, I left it there. Maybe she'd get it on the way back (I know... Naive) ... I didn't really think about it until later.... Anyway, a few days later...

The sun dried sins of her last visit still there... So, I go outside to pretend like I'm getting something from the car and sure enough, her dogs eventually take...

So, this time, I decide to say something. I ask her if she would please clean up after her dog as I have small kids and we use our yard...

She just literally ignored me. Didn't say a thing. So, I made it obvious. I approached and asked if she needed a bag. Her dogs are low-key terrifying though, they...

Etc... She responds with, they're dogs. They poop. It's biodegradable and I'm not going to wrap it in plastic.

We go back and forth and I tried being assertive but professional and she says I can pick it up and called me a creep and walked away.. So... This...

I started watching for her. I also got a ring camera. She stops at my yard like 75% of the time to let the dogs sniff. So one day, I...

Not in a p__cho way either, like I was upset, but I knew the best way to approach it was asking her to just please stop using my yard as...

Cussing and saying rude stuff to me, and I kind of threw it back at her face. Not up in her face but just like "You are crazy and I...

So... As any reasonable person who's totally not weird, I snuck behind her and saw where she lives. (I know, ok!? I know... It's bad. I don't care) I was...

She actually started to pass by my house way more often, but still... I saw her do it when we weren't home.

So I started collecting the turds. I waited about a month. Then I threw them in the back of her pickup.. I felt so alive. .... Kind of ashamed too....

So, I don't know, like two weeks, later. I needed that rush again. So, and this is pathetic, so bear with me.

I literally dressed in black, and slunk out to our dog park at night, and I emptied the f__king dog s__t trash can thing there. Like rancid stuff. I had...

I fired blindly and then just put the rest in her mailbox and fled like a c__ard.

I didn't stop there though. After a few days, I realized I'm a pathetic loser. And I also realized how little thought I had put into my revenge. I had...

So yeah, I literally pooped into a dog bag, hucked it into her yard from a distance while wearing a mask. But like, inverted the bag and held onto the...

I decided I'm basically a terrorist now and I need to stop. So I'm confessing and won't do it again. Gotta get while the gettins good. She's bound to catch...

But one woman with two Dobermans had apparently decided that their yard was her personal dog bathroom.

The homeowner lived a few blocks from a dog park, meaning dogs passing by weren’t unusual. What was unusual was the woman’s habit of deliberately allowing her dogs to wander into their yard, sniff around, and eventually do their business before continuing on her way.

The first time, the homeowner was sitting outside with their two-year-old daughter.

They watched as the woman stopped near the property and allowed her dogs to wander around the lawn on their retractable leashes. Eventually, one of the dogs squatted and left a sizable pile right in the middle of the yard.

And then the woman simply walked away.

No bag.

No apology.

Not even a glance backward.

The homeowner initially decided to let it go.

Maybe she’d come back.

Maybe it was an accident.

Maybe she hadn’t noticed.

That assumption didn’t last long.

A few days later, the woman appeared again. Her dogs once again wandered onto the property, and once again one of them left a fresh deposit behind.

This time, the homeowner confronted her.

They explained that they had small children, regularly used the yard, and would appreciate it if she cleaned up after her dogs.

Instead of apologizing, the woman reportedly dismissed the concern.

Her argument was essentially that dogs poop, the waste was biodegradable, and she wasn’t interested in wrapping it in plastic.

The homeowner even offered her a bag.

She refused.

The exchange ended with the woman telling the homeowner they could pick it up themselves before walking away.

That was the moment the situation stopped being about dog poop.

It became personal.

The homeowner installed a Ring camera and started paying attention to the woman’s walking route. According to the post, the camera showed that she stopped at the yard surprisingly often, allowing her dogs to sniff around and relieve themselves.

Eventually, the homeowner confronted her again.

The response was even worse.

The woman allegedly started yelling and swearing, while the homeowner fired back that they had every right to keep her and her dogs off the property.

At this point, most reasonable people would probably have contacted the city, homeowners’ association, or animal control.

This homeowner chose a different path.

They followed the woman.

They eventually figured out where she lived.

And then they waited.

For roughly a month, the homeowner collected the dog droppings that had been left behind.

Eventually, they decided it was time to return the “gifts.”

The first attempt was relatively tame by what came later.

They collected the accumulated dog poop and tossed it into the woman’s pickup truck.

Apparently, that wasn’t enough.

The homeowner wanted revenge.

So, one night, they dressed in black, went to the nearby dog park, and emptied the public dog-waste trash can.

They then walked toward the woman’s home carrying their disgusting haul.

In the darkness, they started throwing bags of dog poop toward the property.

Some of it ended up in the woman’s yard.

Some reportedly went into her mailbox.

The homeowner admitted that the entire thing felt ridiculous.

But there was still another escalation waiting.

They decided bagged dog poop wasn’t sufficiently satisfying.

So they came up with something even more disgusting.

Human poop.

Yes.

The homeowner began collecting their own waste, putting it into dog-poop bags, and then finding ways to fling it into the woman’s yard.

On one occasion, they even threw some at her car.

They eventually realized they had crossed a line.

Not necessarily because they suddenly felt sorry for the neighbor, but because they recognized just how bizarre the entire situation had become.

They described themselves as feeling a strange combination of shame, satisfaction, and “vigilante poop justice.”

They also had a more practical concern:

What if the neighbor caught them on camera?

The homeowner finally admitted that they were done and didn’t intend to continue.

And honestly, that may have been the smartest decision in the entire story.

These are the responses from Reddit users:

In-Jail-Out-Soon − Get a sprinkler, every time she stops at your yard, go turn it on, doubt she’ll stop to get soaking wet

CataractGlasses − Okay but did she stop bringing her dogs to your yard? ?

NotUrUsualNTJ − She deserved it. But you shouldn’t use your own poop your DNA is in it.

Reddit Was Divided—But Mostly Entertained

The responses were predictably chaotic.

Some commenters suggested abandoning the revenge campaign entirely and using something much more boring but considerably safer.

One popular suggestion was a motion-activated sprinkler. Every time the woman stopped to let her dogs onto the lawn, the homeowner could simply turn it on.

Others recommended putting up a fence, contacting local authorities, or reporting the repeated failure to clean up after the dogs.

Those solutions lacked one important ingredient, though:

The psychological satisfaction of throwing poop back.

Several commenters openly admitted that they were entertained by the sheer level of pettiness.

One commenter jokingly declared themselves part of “Team Turd Toss.”

Another simply wanted to know whether the woman had finally stopped letting her dogs use the yard as a bathroom.

That question may actually be the most important one in the entire story.

Because revenge isn’t really the goal.

Getting the behavior to stop is.

And there was one piece of advice that came up repeatedly: stop escalating before this turns into a much bigger problem.

One commenter specifically warned the homeowner not to involve the mail because messing with someone’s mailbox can create an entirely different set of problems.

Another pointed out that the homeowner had a young child and potentially a job and family to protect. Getting into a serious legal dispute over dog poop would be a spectacularly bad trade.

Others suggested documenting everything with the security camera and going through official channels instead.

The homeowner’s original frustration was understandable.

The neighbor had allegedly been told multiple times.

She had allegedly refused to clean up after her dogs.

She had allegedly continued allowing them onto private property.

But the revenge campaign had eventually become much more extreme than the original offense.

At first, the homeowner was simply asking someone to pick up after their dog.

By the end, they were conducting nighttime fecal operations while wearing a mask.

That’s a pretty significant escalation.

The Real Question Isn’t Whether the Revenge Was Funny

There is no denying that the story is absurdly entertaining.

The mental image of someone sneaking around at night in black clothing, armed with bags of dog poop, is difficult not to laugh at.

But there is also a point where satisfying revenge stops being satisfying and starts becoming a liability.

The homeowner already had a Ring camera.

They already knew where the woman lived.

They already had evidence of the dogs repeatedly entering their property.

That was enough.

A few videos documenting the behavior could have accomplished far more than a bucket of poop.

A fence could have prevented the dogs from entering.

A motion-activated sprinkler could have made the yard unpleasant enough to discourage them.

And a formal complaint could have put the responsibility back where it belonged: on the dog owner.

Instead, the homeowner turned a neighborhood annoyance into a covert poop war.

And once human feces entered the equation, the situation became considerably harder to defend.

The funniest part of the story may actually be the homeowner’s final realization.

They described themselves as essentially becoming a “terrorist” and admitted that they needed to stop while they still could.

That self-awareness might have arrived late, but it was probably necessary.

Because sometimes the best revenge isn’t the nastiest revenge.

It’s getting the problem solved without becoming the problem yourself.

For this homeowner, the original grievance was simple:

Pick up after your dogs.

Everything that followed was a spectacularly disgusting detour.
