The Earth’s Mightiest Heroes may have save the world numerous times, but not every one of them can make it into the coveted Hollywood Hall of Fame. However, a long-time Avenger has recently achieved the incredible feat.
Chris Hemsworth, celebrated for his portrayal of Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is set to receive one of Hollywood’s highest honors. Hemsworth will be immortalized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame later this month, recognizing his incredible impact both as part of the MCU and in the broader film industry.
I remember many years ago carving my name into wet concrete on the sidewalk outside my grandmas place, little did I know that years on those skills would come in handy! Honoured to share this moment with my Avenging mates on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame 🙏🤙👍🕺 @Avengers pic.twitter.com/r4FsmwmA5m

The induction ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, May 23, at 11:30 a.m. PT, and fans around the world can tune in via a live stream on the official Walk of Fame website. The event will feature appearances from notable figures including filmmaker George Miller, who directed Hemsworth in the upcoming Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, and Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, and Jeremy Renner, Hemsworth’s fellow Avengers co-star.
The ceremony, set to be held at 6819 Hollywood Boulevard, will be hosted by Walk of Famer Ellen K, a well-known iHeart media personality.
“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to honor Chris Hemsworth with a well-deserved star. Chris is known for his remarkable performances that have captivated audiences worldwide Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, said in a statement. Along with his many fans, I am sure his fellow Australians will be so happy to know that we are adding another talented Aussie to our iconic Walk of Fame,” Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, announced.
Interestingly, Robert Downey Jr., despite his pivotal role in the MCU, has yet to receive his own star. However, Hemsworth joins other Avengers and MCU stars who have been honored, including Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Rudd, Don Cheadle, Benedict Cumberbatch, Josh Brolin, and Samuel L. Jackson, further cementing the MCU’s legacy on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Beyond his role as the God of Thunder, Hemsworth has a diverse acting portfolio. He has starred in the Extraction series on Netflix and is confirmed to return for a third installment. The 40-year-old will also lend his voice to Optimus Prime in the upcoming animated Transformers One, due for release in September 2024, and will appear alongside Sam Rockwell in the upcoming spy thriller Project X.
The Aussie actor is also rumored to return to the MCU in Thor 5, though an actual confirmation from Marvel isn’t out yet. For now, Hemsworth will appear in theater as the desert tyrant Dementus in the upcoming Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga spinoff.
Interestingly, George Miller, who’s working with Hemsworth for Furiosa, is also eyeing the director chair of Thor 5. After the departure of Taika Waititi from the MCU, the Thor 5’s helm is left abandoned, and Miller has expressed his desire to work with the Dementus actor again in the much-anticipated sequel.
