The Dallas Cowboys are ready to unveil their latest offensive addition, as former Carolina Panthers wide receiver Jonathan Mingo is set to make his debut Monday night against the Houston Texans. Head coach Mike McCarthy confirmed the news, signaling a fresh start for the second-year pro.
Mingo, originally drafted by the Panthers with the 39th overall pick in 2023, has yet to fully showcase his potential in the NFL. Over 24 games with Carolina, he recorded 539 receiving yards on 55 catches but failed to find the end zone. Seeking a spark for their offense, the Cowboys traded for Mingo just before the league’s trade deadline last Tuesday.

Panthers general manager Dan Morgan shed light on the deal, emphasizing mutual benefits for both teams.
“Great player, still a developing player,” said Morgan. “Thought it was a good deal between us and Dallas. They get a young player that they can grow and develop, and we get a draft pick we’re happy with. So, I think it was a win-win for both sides.”
Dallas sent a 2025 fourth-round pick to Carolina, receiving Mingo and a 2025 seventh-round pick in return. For the Cowboys, the move highlights their commitment to strengthening the offense as they navigate a challenging season.
As Mingo prepares for his debut, fans will be watching closely to see if the former second-round pick can provide the much-needed boost to Dallas’ passing game. Monday night’s clash with the Texans will mark the first chapter of Mingo’s journey in Cowboys blue.
