The horror comedic sequel to the 1993 Halloween cult hit, Hocus Pocus 2 has debuted a first-look image on Disney+, featuring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, all reprising their roles from the first film. The sequel will release on the streaming service in the fall of 2022.
On Friday, producer Adam Shankman took to Instagram to reveal the release date for Hocus Pocus 2. The sequel to Kenny Ortega’s 1993 Disney hit will premiere on Disney+ this Halloween, according to by Disney.
Hocus Pocus 2 plot
In the first Hocus Pocus film, an inquisitive child called Max (Omri Katz) went to Salem and tried to fit in before waking the Sanderson Sisters, a trio of malevolent witches (played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy) who were condemned in the 17th century.
Three young ladies unwittingly bring the Sanderson Sisters back to modern-day Salem in the sequel. They must then devise a plan to prevent the child-eating witches from spreading devastation on the planet.
Hocus Pocus 2 cast
Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Hannah Waddingham, Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, Belissa Escobedo, Doug Jones, Juju Brenner, Froy Gutierrez, Taylor Henderson, and Nina Kitchen will join Midler, Parker, and Najimy in the sequel’s cast.
The film was directed by Anne Fletcher and produced by Walt Disney Pictures, and it was based on a scenario by Jen D’Angelo.
