The Hollywood star has created artwork of his beloved and friends, labeled as “an intimate reflection of their character in Johnny’s eyes; a portrayal of how they have revealed themselves to him.”
As his defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard drew to a close last week, a jury of five men and two women ruled mainly towards Johnny Depp’s side.

The incredibly high-profile six-week trial was triggered by an op-ed that Amber had written for the Washington Post in 2018, which called for there to be more support for women who had survived domestic violence.

Though Heard didn’t refer to Johnny directly, she claimed she’d been a “public figure” for domestic abuse 2 years before, when she opted for a divorce with her then-husband and won a short-term restraining order against Depp.

Amber said in an announcement back then that Johnny was “verbally and physically abusive” to her during their relationship.

Replying to the publishing of her op-ed, Johnny has refused that he had anything to do with domestic violence regarding Amber and even filed a defamation case against her.

The case went to trial in April of this year. It’s worth noticing that 2 years ago, Johnny lost a libel action against British tabloid The Sun, when a judge found that there was sufficient proof for the tabloid to call him a “wife beater” in an article.

This time, the defamation trial was scheduled to be in Virginia, and the state regulations let the court be livestreamed online, which meant that people all over the world were able to closely watch the progress.

Though most of Johnny’s supporters rallied around him on social media to show their support, some of them were unpleasant, sending abusive remarks to his daughter, Lily-Rose Depp, on Instagram.

Lily-Rose was not active on social media during the trial of her dad, with the exception of a post commemorating her 23rd birthday on May 28. However, commenters on her prior images chastised her for not vocally supporting her father.

“You post your t i t s more than your own dad, what a wreck,” one person commented. Another one wrote: “Not a single pic of your dad! What kind of human being are u!?” In a second comment, the same account added: “After years you will be gone and forgotten and people will only remember you as the daughter of a legendary man.”

Users on social media expressed their outrage over Lily-mistreatment Rose’s and called out the trolls. One tweet read: “Y’all have no consideration that maybe all this is difficult for her, y’all feel entitled to her time & energy. It’s sick.”

Well, Depp appeared to have taken Lily-Rose’s silence into consideration, referring to it in a set of images from his NFT project named Never Fear Truth, which he started since January.

Never Fear Truth is the “first public exposure of Johnny’s art,” according to the website, and it concentrates on the actor’s “friends and heroes.” It continued to depict them: “People he has known well, and who have inspired him as a person. Each image is an intimate reflection of their character in Johnny’s eyes; a portrayal of how they have revealed themselves to him.”

Hundreds of animated images of his daughter have been created from the same photographic image, then stripped back and “energized” with Johnny’s freehand and “reflections of the individual’s nature.”

Various quotes are inscribed across Lily-face Rose’s throughout the works. “Silence. Exile. Cunning,” read numerous. “Words become feeble,” says another.

The line “silence, exile, cunning” is a paraphrasing from James Joyce’s masterpiece A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, and Johnny had it tattooed on his wrist.

Lily-Rose is the daughter of Depp with his ex-wife Vanessa Paradis, who both are parents to 20-year-old Jack Depp, who doesn’t appear in any of Johnny’s NFTs.

Johnny stated of his efforts in a statement when he first started Never Fear Truth earlier this year: “I’ve always used art to communicate my sentiments and to reflect on those who matter most to me, like my family, friends, and people I admire.”

When fans purchase one of Johnny’s NFTs, they gain access to a special Discord group where they can collaborate on creative projects. Additionally, donations are made to Johnny’s chosen charity.
