Making movies is a complicated process. Despite the filmmaker’s best efforts, it occasionally happens that little mistakes sneak through the final cut and are only discovered by some eagle-eyed viewers.

There are many reasons that lead to film errors on set. It can happen when actors forget their lines, accidentally slip and fall, or simply improvise. However, when these incidents occurred, some actors had the talent to improvise and deliver the best performance. Amazing! It turns out that a blooper sometimes finds its way into the final cut of a movie. From the most romantic movie Titanic to the best comic book movie adaptation Avengers: Endgame, there are unexpected moments or scenes used by the filmmakers, and sometimes they make the scene even better. Keep reading for more details!

#1 Titanic

Although many people are certainly familiar with Leonardo DiCaprio‘s character’s famous Titanic line, “I’m the king of the world!” was never part of the original screenplay. James Cameron, the film’s author and director, admitted that the lines were made up while filming. Although DiCaprio wasn’t sure about the statement, it ended up being linked with the movie as a whole.

The script didn’t have a crucial moment in which Jack instructed Kate on how to “spit like a man.” The entire sequence was really fully improvised by the actors under the direction of the director, thus everything we see in this scene is entirely the work of the players.

#2 The Godfather

In the introduction of The Godfather, a cat appears in a chilling scene. Francis Coppola, the film’s director, gave Marlon Brando the stray cat to hold without giving a reason; the animal had walked into the scene. Despite nearly ruining the scene, the cat’s loud purring was included in the final version.

#3 Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark

The villain Rene Belloq appeared to let a fly crawl into his mouth during a sequence, that fans of Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark may recognize. The fly, according to the actor Paul Freeman, landed on his face, but he didn’t want to take his eyes off the action. As a minor detail, the post-production crew then manipulated it to appear as though it crept inside his mouth.

#4 Star Wars Episode V

The initial response to Princess Leia confessing her love to Hans Solo during a moment in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back was “I love you too.” Harrison Ford, however, believed that adding “I know” would be funnier and better suited to his persona.

#5 Star Wars Episode IV

Mark Hamill, who co-starred with Harrison Ford in the film, admitted that another famous Star Wars line was also improvised. Harrison Ford is known for coming up with funny lines on the fly while filming. One of the most well-known quotes from Star Wars Episode IV is when Hans Solo cautions Luke Skywalker, “Don’t get cocky, kid.” Ford allegedly improvised the phrase, and it was used in the final edit, according to Hamill.

#6 House of the Dragon

The House of the Dragon‘s eighth episode has a dramatic sequence in which Daemon assists Viserys in rising to the throne and replaces his lost crown. The director of the show said that the crown’s fall was a mistake, but they continued to film nevertheless, creating one of the program’s most moving sequences.

#7 Dirty Dancing

The two main characters in the 1987 movie starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey crawl toward one another during a dance rehearsal. The unplanned scene was captured on film while the actors warmed up. However, the movie’s director decided to keep the sequence since he enjoyed it so much.

#8 Avengers: Endgame

Thor was first seen in Avengers: Endgame in a whole fresh way. The character gained weight over time and swiftly won over fans. Although Chris Hemsworth admitted that the original intention had been to have him lose weight in the midst of the film, he pushed to maintain him the same until the very end.
