The 1990s is a blowing-up era of sitcoms. In addition to traditional ones rated PG and G for families, many others were written for adults only. Still, they were not enough for the public and the networks. People were waiting for some refreshing and explosive ideas. The 1990s is also the end of the old TV broadcasting system and the first step of the launching pad for the overwhelming, option-rich entertainment world with hundreds of cable channels in the 2000s.

Now, we are in the 2020s with a dizzying array of digital streaming services. However, several sitcoms from the 90s are still favored. They are cult classics that will not fade away and remain the best to audiences growing up in the decade. They are still a favorite in reruns, being discovered by new audiences, making them still popular today.

#1. The Nanny (1993-1999)

Wings was a ’90s sitcom that centered around the fictional airport Tom Nevers Field. With Joe and Brian Hackett running their own airline, Sandpiper Air, the show follows them and their day-to-day at work.

NewsRadio involves a group of people running a radio station and the relationships between them. It is another great example of a workplace comedy with a terrific ensemble cast.

#7. The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air (1990-1996

The show launched the acting career of a young Will Smith as a teenager from West Philadelphia who is sent to live with his wealthy relatives in Bel-Air. Its theme song was also a big hit.

#8. Boy Meets World (1993-2000)
