If you watch 1 number of Anime movies.
We all realize that some famous actor always plays anime characters, and actors and celebrities always have anime movies and their favorite characters.
Dive deep, and you may be surprised to find yourself as an Otakus just like you and even more surprised at how much anime affects their craft.
Top 10 Celebrities Who Love Anime. Even I was surprised by either of these options.
1- James Cameron
James Cameron‘s move into Anime may seem out of the blue, but it isn’t the first time he has shown an interest in the genre. During a 2019 interview, Cameron cited titles like Ghost in the Shell, Metropolis, and Battle Angel Alita as top picks when asked what his favorite films were. This admiration for these particular Anime films is indicative of Cameron’s love for the genre as a whole and his appreciation for the potential of its limitless scale.
Cameron has already proven himself to be a master storyteller and visionary, but with the move into Anime, he looks to take his filmmaking skills to a new level. Do the more critical questions become how he will use the genre’s unique visual style to develop his stories and characters further? Or will he be able to find a new way to push the boundaries of animation even further than what has been attempted before?
2- Elon Musk
Elon Musk is the most famous person on planet Earth. He had a massive following of people who hung onto his every word. So when he posted a tweet one day about his favorite anime, it caused quite a stir with some of the more dedicated fans.
The tweet read: “My top 5 animes are Naruto, Attack On Titan, One Piece, Sword Art Online, and My Hero Academia. Elon Musk was just as much of a fanboy as everyone else!
When news spread about Elon’s love for these shows, fans everywhere were inspired to try them out and see the fuss. As people watched each episode, they grew to understand why Elon loved them so much; they were very well-crafted stories with unique characters and beautiful art styles.
Soon enough, cosplays began popping up in conventions and stores selling merchandise related to these shows. People began meeting for watch parties to discuss their favorite moments from each show or theorize over future plots together. Everyone was talking about anime – it was almost like its own language now!
Eventually, this newfound passion became more than just entertainment; it became part of the culture, with debates between different sides over which show is better or if certain characters should do certain things to further their storylines. This debate eventually made its way back to Elon, who commented on how proud he felt seeing something he liked become such an integral part of society’s conversations today – even though it started out as nothing more than passing curiosity at first glance!
3-Keanu Reeves
Keanu Reeves was the most beloved person on the planet. People adored him for his charming personality, his dedication to action scenes, and of course, his acting prowess. But many didn’t know that he had a secret passion – Anime.
For years, Keanu frequented anime shops in his spare time and even held long conversations about some of his favorite titles with other fans. It also became apparent to everyone around him that he wanted to land the role of Spike Spiegel in a live-action Cowboy Bebop movie or Netflix series – something which is now closer than ever thanks to the upcoming release of this adaptation.
It’s not just from professional projects either; Keanu has brought some of his Anime love into more mainstream works too, such as The Matrix and John Wick franchises, where we can see characters using martial arts skills inspired by Japanese Anime fight choreography coupled with incredible special effects sequences reminiscent of classic Sci-Fi Anime films. It almost seems as though Keanu himself could be a real-life Anime character if we think about it!
4- BTS
The world-famous K-Pop band BTS members were always fans of the popular anime series Naruto. Their love for this show was so great that they decided to cover one of its songs in their unique style, and it soon became a global hit.
But what none of their fans realized was that these passionate artists loved Naruto and wanted to meet some of its key characters in real life. After months and months of planning and hard work, they finally managed to make it happen!
One day, after a long day’s practice, the seven members found themselves transported into the magical world of Naruto with no idea how or why they had been brought there. They soon discovered that Orochimaru had used his powerful magic to bring them here because he wanted them to help spread his message: even though we live in separate worlds and come from different backgrounds, we are all connected through music.
The group quickly agreed; nothing could be more accurate than this simple yet profound truth! And so began an incredible journey as they explored this strange new land while singing some amazing tunes along the way – including their famous cover song from Naruto which made everyone feel deeply connected despite being so far apart.
By traveling around Konoha Village and meeting various characters such as Rock Lee and Sasuke Uchiha (who eventually joined them on stage!), BTS showed us all just how powerful music can be when it comes together with friendship and understanding between people who may seem completely different at first glance.
5- Michael B. Jordan
Michael B. Jordan had always been a fan of Anime, from classic series like Dragon Ball Z to more modern shows like Attack on Titan. He loved them and was particularly inspired by their heroes and villains. So it was no surprise that when he got his first big break in Hollywood playing Erik Killmonger in Marvel’s Black Panther, he wanted to bring some of his Anime fandoms into it.
He worked with the costume designers to ensure that Killmonger’s armor resembled Saiyan Armor—the iconic battle armor worn by Goku and other Saiyans in Dragon Ball Z—even down to the minor details. His performance also drew inspiration from some of his favorite characters, allowing him to show off just how much he loves Anime.
So when Michael B Jordan showed Tony Stark a mecha design during Marvel’s What If episode last week, everyone was surprised but not shocked at what they saw: The most expensive Gundam model ever built! It seemed only fitting for someone who has been such an avid Anime fan for so long; even Tony couldn’t help but be impressed!
The actual test will come later this year when Michael returns as Killmonger in the upcoming Black Panther sequel — we can only imagine how many more references there’ll be then! Perhaps we’ll even hear him shout “KAKAROTTTT!!!” at total volume? We certainly hope so…
6- Samuel L. Jackson
Samuel L. Jackson was already a household name when he began voicing characters in Afro-Samurai, but his newfound love of anime only added to his growing legend. It seemed odd that such an iconic actor would be passionate about something most people considered “just for kids.”
But those who knew him best weren’t surprised by this revelation. After all, Samuel had always been a fan of the strange and unusual. He loved pushing boundaries and exploring new ideas – which is exactly what anime could offer him.
Samuel replied simply when asked why he liked it so much: “It’s different from anything else I’ve ever seen before.”
That response made perfect sense to everyone who knew him well. For years, they had watched as he explored new genres of music and film, constantly trying to find something unique that no one else had experienced yet – and now he was doing the same thing with anime!
He wasn’t just watching it; he was contributing to it too! His voice work in Afro Samurai allowed millions of fans worldwide to experience his passion firsthand – a true testament to how much influence someone can have on their favorite pastime if they’re willing to put in the effort needed.
Despite its reputation as being childish or silly, there’s no doubt that Samuel L. Jackson will continue showing us just how influential anime can be for years to come!
7- Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande had just finished another successful show and was now on her way back to the hotel. She leaned her head against the bus window, exhausted from singing and dancing for all those fans.
As she looked at the passing city lights, thoughts of a home filled her mind. Suddenly, a bright poster caught her attention – it depicted a small blue-haired girl in strange clothes holding up a glowing lantern with an oddly shaped creature by her side. It was Chihiro from Spirited Away! Ariana couldn’t believe it – she had been watching this movie since she was young and loved its story so much that she even got a tattoo of Chihiro on her arm!
Ariana had always wanted to explore the world as Chihiro did, going on adventures, meeting new people, and having exciting experiences shaping who she became. And here in this moment, perhaps through some strange coincidence or fate, she felt inspired again to do just that!
With such newfound motivation coursing through her veins, Ariana made sure wherever life took the following year after year — be it touring around Europe or Japan — every chance she got between shows would be spent exploring each new place with enthusiasm and curiosity as if something magical could happen any second…just like what happened in Spirited Away!
8- Snoop Dog
Snoop Dogg has always been a man of many talents and interests. The world-renowned rapper had dabbled in just about every kind of entertainment, but he kept one thing hidden from the public: his passion for anime. Snoop would hunker down with a bowl of snacks every chance he got and watch episode after episode of his favorite shows—mainly Naruto.
It wasn’t until recently that Snoop decided to take the plunge and share his love for anime with the world:
- It was an Instagram post featuring a mock-up image of himself and Naruto.
- Images started popping up online showing him reading volumes of the manga.
- When asked by one fan if he enjoyed any particular “waifu,” Snoop replied with an image featuring himself alongside Neptune from Hyperdimension Neptunia!
The internet exploded at this news—not only had they discovered their beloved rap artist’s secret obsession, but they also discovered that their perception of him as too cool for cartoons couldn’t have been more wrong! Since then, fans worldwide have seen a whole new side to Snoop Dogg—as if he’d been hiding away in some magical pocket dimension watching episodes we could only dream about!
9- Robin Williams
I opened the door to my local comic book store on a cold and dreary day. The smell of old paper filled the air as I browsed through some rare finds. As I was searching for something interesting, an older gentleman caught my eye in the corner of the room. He had a thick mustache and glasses, but he wasn’t someone you could easily forget because he had such an infectious smile that lit up the entire shop.
I walked over to him, curious about what this mysterious man might be reading. When I got close enough to see what it was, I realized it was a list of Anime titles with Robin Williams listed at the top. My heart stopped beating for a moment as memories flooded into my mind – Robin Williams teaching us all how to laugh and be kind; his daughter Zelda voicing Kuvira on The Legend of Korra, and now here he is showing off one of his favorite interests – anime!
The man noticed me staring at him in awe, so he winked at me before motioning towards one title in particular: Blood: The Last Vampire. “That’s one worth watching if you ever get around to it,” he said with a smirk before returning to his reading material again.
We chatted for a while about our shared love affair with anime and other nerdy things we were both fans of until finally, after trading jokes back-and-forth like pros (though admittedly none quite matched up against those legendary ones from Mr. Williams himself) –we parted ways with hearty laughs and promises that we would meet again soon someday…
10- Leonardo DiCaprio
Leonardo DiCaprio had always been a fan of Japanese anime. He loved the art style, the intricately designed characters, and the gripping storylines that made up some of his favorite films. When he heard about Akira, one of the most beloved animes in history, it immediately grabbed his attention.
He knew that if he could be involved with this project, it would surely be something special. So when MTV approached him to produce a live-action version of Akira, Leonardo jumped at the opportunity and began working hard to ensure everything was perfect for its release.
After months spent poring over scripts and doing interviews related to the movie’s production process, Leonardo finally felt they were ready to move forward with their plans – until suddenly, things stopped progressing altogether. It seemed as though there was nothing more they could do. Eventually, everyone realized that despite all their hard work, Akira would only see life beyond the pre-production stages sometime soon – unless something changed drastically.
One day Leonardo got a call from Miyazaki himself, who asked him if he’d be interested in helping revive Spirited Away for another audience so many years after its initial success. The two talked long into the night about how an animated film from such a revered director had impacted audiences around the world – even inspiring Hollywood filmmakers such as Leonardo himself!
The conversation gave Leo just enough inspiration to devise a plan: why not merge both projects? With Miyazaki onboard and other renowned artists joining forces too – including sound designers & cinematographers, amongst others – they finally managed to bring both Akira & Spirited Away back to life under one roof! The combination proved successful enough for them to launch an entire theatrical run of their unique joint venture, which ended up being one of 2021’s most significant successes!
Although it wasn’t exactly what Leo expected when first signing on board this project so many months prior; looking back now however and seeing what these dedicated creatives achieved simply through sheer passion alone is no doubt something worth celebrating!
