‘The Boys’ reportedly gets renewed for Season 5 ahead of Season 4 release.
Recently, Prime Video has announced that Season 4 of The Boys will return this June. It looks like the wait is finally over for fans of this hit superhero series.
Surprisingly, they won’t have to wait long for Season 5, as The Boys series creator Eric Kripke is going to get to develop his fifth season before the Season 4 release.
Even though Prime Video has not officially announced Season 5, a recent listing on Production List indicates that it is already in pre-production and will be filmed in Toronto. It is slated to begin filming in early April and end in late August.
Of course, details about Season 5 must be kept even more secure, because any small piece of information could spoil big surprises in the upcoming Season 4.
We also can’t speculate about what Season 5 of The Boys could cover because it all depends on how Season 4 ends.
Anything is possible at this point, including the chance of Homelander (Anthony Starr) being killed. His co-workers, associates, and The Boys themselves are putting in a lot of effort for that outcome.
The main group of characters in Season 4 of The Boys is once again built around the quartet of Karl Urban’s Butcher, Jack Quaid’s Hughie, Erin Moriarty’s Starlight, and Anthony Starr‘s Homelander.
Jensen Ackles hinted about possibly coming back as Soldier Boy in The Boys season 4. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is set to join the main cast in a secret role, adding more star power to the show.
In The Boys season 4, two new Supes are officially joining the crew. Susan Heyward, known for Orange is the New Black, will play Sister Sage, and Valorie Curry, from The Lost Symbol, will take on the role of Firecracker.
Rosemarie DeWitt, recognized from La La Land, is confirmed to play Hughie’s long-lost mom, while Simon Pegg, from Shaun of the Dead, returns as Hughie’s father. Rob Benedict from Supernatural and Elliot Knight from Titans are also on board in undisclosed roles.

The description for Season 4 of The Boys reads, “The world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power.”
“Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son as well as his job as The Boys’ leader. The rest of the team is fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.”
The Boys Season 4 is set to premiere on Prime Video on June 13, 2024.
The director, Kripke, said that Season 4 will include one of the “batshit craziest things we’ve ever done.”
